10 Major DCEU Characters Compared To Their Comic Book Counterparts
For the majority of its part, DCEU thrived towards keeping its on-screen characters look comic accurate. While it is quite an advantage, it has also been the major disadvantage for DCEU that their comic characters have had various looks. This is primarily because of the artist who drew them. However, most of its major characters possessed a particular look and that is what remained associated with them for all these years. With that said, these are the 10 major DCEU characters compared to their comic book counterparts –
Superman
Superman’s features from the comic books include his piercing blue eyes and black hair (and of course his height that is around 6’2”). He is also quite handsome and obviously muscular. On the other hand, Henry Cavill is apparently famous for his physique that does look really athletic. Moreover, Cavill is 6’1” tall and have a dark brown colored hair. But while he has blue-colored eyes, they are not as light-colored as comic world’s Superman’s eyes.
The Flash
In the DC comic world, Barry Allen has quite some significant features. He got blue eyes and blond hair. On the other hand, Ezra Miller has dark brown eyes and black hair. However, DCEU is not the first place where our beloved Flash is looking different. In fact, Grant Gustin, who has been playing Barry Allen in The Flash TV show, has brown hair but no blue eyes.
Wonder Woman
While Gal Gadot looked almost similar to Wonder Woman, some details went all wrong. In the DC comic world, Wonder Woman has blue eyes and black hair, and a height of 6’0″. On the other hand, Gal Gadot, has dark brown eyes and dark brown hair and a height of around 5’9″.
Harley Quinn
This one character hates getting bored. And perhaps that is why she has changed quite some looks in the DC comic world. With that said, Harley’s unnaturally pale skin is what the film version got right. While Harley is 5’7” tall, Margot Robbie is just 5’5” in height. She in fact has a very different eye color when compared with the original source.
Aquaman
Aquaman is undoubtedly one of those characters who look completely different when compared with the comic world. In DC comics, Arthur Curry has blue eyes and blonde hair. But Jason Momoa, on the other hand, has blonde shades but they are still mostly brown. He also got dark beard and green eyes, which is not at all similar to that from the comic world.
Shazam
Shazam from DC comics looks almost similar to Superman. While he is significantly tall, he is quite muscular as well and has blue eyes and black-colored hair. On the other hand, Zachary Levi is 6’3″ tall and has hazel eyes and dark brown hair. These are the things that make him look a bit different from his comic counterpart.
Black Canary
While many held the Black Canary title in DC comics, it was primarily and majorly Dinah Drake. He has blue eyes and blonde hair and a height of around 5’7”. On the other hand, Jurnee Smollett-Bell is 5’6” tall and has black hair and dark brown eyes.
Batman
Batman is perhaps another significant DC superhero who is no less famous than Shazam and Superman. He got blue eyes and black hair and a height of around 6’2”. Apparently, Ben Affleck looks very different from his comic counterpart. He got hazel eyes and dark brown hair with a height of around 6’2”.
Renee Montoya
Renee, in DC comics, is 5’8″ tall and has brown eyes and pure black hair. On the other hand, Rosie Perez, is 5’1″ tall and has dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. She is significantly different from her comic counterpart.
Huntress
Last but not least, Helena Bertinelli comes from an Italian family and has brown eyes and black hair in the DC comics. However, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is somewhat shorter than the source Huntress and has dark brown eyes and dark brown colored hair as well.
