10 Popular Actors & The DC Character They Should Be Playing
It would not be a lie to echo that DC is currently hailing to reach the same benchmark as that of Marvels. In fact, ever since the end of Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, DC’s films have failed to manage the viewers’ critical acclaims, and as a result, the box office results are drowning. With that being said, what fans and viewers could expect is the inclusion of some popular actors into the franchise (and some new characters from the comic world, of course).
These are the 10 popular actors and the DC characters they should play –
Daniel Kaluuya as Green Lantern
This emerging actor is known for playing a superb role in Get Out. On the other hand, John Stewart is a prominent DC character who deserves to make a comeback on the big screen. With that being said, Daniel Kaluuya will be a fantastic choice to play Stewart, AKA Green Lantern in DCEU.
Charlie Hunnam as Green Lantern
Another actor who could be a brilliant choice to play Green Lantern on-screen is Charlie Hunnam. Precisely, Hunnam is made to play the role of Gardener in DCEU. A fan who has been following this actor’s career knows that what type of roles he has been playing all this time – brutal, swaggering, and morally disturbed kind of being who’d break any rules when it comes to clashing with ideologies.
Sofia Boutella as Hawkgirl
The one thing DCEU could use to compete with Marvel is their female-led films. Shiera Hal is a demi-goddess from ancient Egypt who has a badass attitude and a fancy pair of wings. With that being said, it is Sofia Boutella who could be the right fit to play her on-screen.
Sophie Turner as Poison Ivy
While Turner has already played a superhero in the last two X-Men movies, she might be a right fit to portray Poison Ivy on screen. The character, in DC comics, is a dark seductress who is way more attracted towards the botanical life than humanity.
Timothee Chalamet as Robin
The young actor, Timothee Chalamet, is thriving to make a name for him on screen. The way he has portrayed his character in The King is a highlight of what the young talent is capable of. With that said, he could be a right fit to play Tim Drake, AKA Robin in the DCEU.
Antony Starr as The Reverse Flash
The Boys (available to stream on Amazon Prime) has been the most unexpected hit of 2021. One of the reasons behind it is none other than Antony Starr’s Homelander. With that being said, Thawne is perhaps the greatest villain that Berry Allen has ever come across. And it’d be quite intriguing to see Antony Starr playing the Reverse Flash’s role in the DCEU.
Maisie Williams as The Batgirl
It is not possible to overlook Maisie Williams when the new addition to the DCEU is being discussed. With that said, she could be a right fit to play Stephanie Brown, AKA The Batgirl on screen.
Liam Hemsworth as Oliver Queen
Oliver Queen is undoubtedly the most dominating superhero in the DC universe. Moreover, having a new Green Arrow on board will help DCEU to push the franchise towards a massive success. With that said, considering the humor and heart of the Green Arrow, Liam Hemsworth will be a right fit for the role.
Vin Diesel as Lobo
Whether one hates him or loves him, Vin Diesel has managed to position himself at the top of his career. Because he still hasn’t got an opportunity to play (on-screen) in the MCU, DCEU should propose him to play the superhuman, Lobo.
Sterling K. Brown as Martian Manhunter
Last but not least, Martian Manhunter is another prominent character that DC should consider bringing on screen as soon as possible. He has been one of the sagest-headed members of the Justice League team in the DC comics. And when it comes to playing J’onn J’onzz on screen, no one could be a better choice than Sterling K. Brown.
