No superhero movie goes down without a hardened villain who’s rooting for a purpose that’s simply selfish. Honestly, these villains give the heroes a reason to fight for what’s right and make up for a great plot. Needless to say, there are times when these evil characters are enjoyed by the fans more than the heroes. Someone said it right, villains are normal people who are reflecting the thoughts of a normal person but in a grotesque way. But yes, there are times when these characters go beyond limits. So, here’s a list of 14 irredeemable villains that we just cannot sympathize with. Check it out!

1. Joker

DC has many villains, but Joker stands apart and is literally one of the most famous villains of all time. Well, the character has a depth that drives the people to like him which intensifies his history with Batman even more. However, don’t let the fan following of this evil character fool you. Joker is not redeemable. Even though Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker gives us a backstory, Heath ledger’s portrayal of the character speaks otherwise. The Joker is a straight-up maniac but in totality, an awesome character,

2. Prince Humperdinck

This Prince is an out-of-his mind character and I’ll tell you why. In The Princess Bride, he has two evil plans. He is far from being a good guy. Humperdinck has Buttercup’s love interest Westley tied to a torture device that takes away most of the life of a person. But he doesn’t stop there. He even turns it up a notch and sets his device at the most painful setting in order to keep the two love birds away.

3. Agent Smith

This Matrix villain has no sense of humanity whatsoever. Being the agent of the system, he cannot be killed so easily. His job is to keep the humans and machines in line. But in actuality, he’s an AI product and is simply coded that way. But when he is killed and freed of the code, he doesn’t show mercy whatsoever. So yes, pretty irredeemable.

4. Judge Doom

Doom is the perfect villain for a cartoonish film such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit itself. It is told that he hates his own kind and he mercilessly erases other toons by dipping them into acid. But what stands out is that he isn’t human at all. He himself is a toon and pretty evil one at that.

5. Anton Chigurh

No Country For Old Man had the perfect villain. Chigurh had no sense of emotion let alone feeling pity. It’s clear the director did not want the viewers to feel bad for him. He did not hesitate in killing a man by shooting him in the head. The evil character even goes on to torture a gas station worker which seemed liked for his own guilty pleasures.

6. Freddy Krueger

You cannot sympathize with Krueger. He was burnt alive by a mob. Well, the mob was of angry parents and burnt him alive because he preyed on their children. So how can you feel bad for the villain in any way? But without a doubt, Krueger made up for a good villain. He invades people in their dreams and makes them too terrified to sleep.

7. Hans Landa

Landa is one of the best additions to the list. Just by nature, he’s irredeemable because he’s a Nazi. He’s pure evil and literally had a look of satisfaction whenever the violence begins. And oh, he loves terrorizing people.

8. Lord Voldemort

His actions eventually came back to bite him in the butt. The entire Harry Potter franchise happens because he tried to kill a baby. Yes, Happy Potter, that too after killing his parents. Even though he was an orphan, he was aware of his evil ways since day one as he did torment other kids. So yes, one of the greatest villains of all times is far from redemption.

9. Pennywise The Dancing Clown

The guy literally feeds off of children that allow him to survive his dormant periods. So, every once in a while, he would resurface and kidnap a bunch of kids from the town of Derby. Even though he looks like a clown, he’s no less than an ancient evil entity. Moreover, his decades of same actions make him miles away from redemption.

10. Sauron

The reason why he is irredeemable is that he does not have any human-like qualities and is the literal embodiment of evil. The Lord of the Rings character lives son Mt. Doom and created the ring that controls all the rings. Moreover, he uses his powers to enslave all of Middle Earth. He’s known as the enemy of the free people.

11. Major Arnold Toht

Raiders of the Lost Ark character is a Nazi Scientist who is not afraid to go to any length in order to succeed. His mission is to find the Arc and give it to Third Reich in order to gain a supernatural edge in WWII. Toht’s introduction itself shows him torturing Marion Ravenwood.

12. Nurse Ratched

She is the one who controls the mental institution where Randle Patrick McMurphy is transferred to in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. She uses the weaknesses of the mentally ill patients in order to keep them in check. This is straight-up deranged and it tells that the character is miles away from sanity.

13. Emperor Palpatine

This guy is the Hitler of cinema history by presumably having a large body count. Well, he was the one who constructed Death Star so any death or annihilation caused by the same lands on Palpatine’s head right away. The reason why he trots down his evil path is that he is consumed by the evil side.

13.  Immortan Joe

Hands down one of the grossest villains of all time. His gruesome appearance makes a villain naturally. However, he’s far more evil than his appearance suggests. Apparently, he is a God and controls the water supply. So he rules over men and women while taking the latter in order to make the perfect offspring. This is a classic case of body and mind being corrupted by sheer power.
