4 Doctor Doom Moments That Prove Why He’s Always Better Than Thanos
Doctor Doom is used to being in situations that stretch the very limits of credibility. In 2005, he was beaten by a fire hydrant. The following year, he became a strange psychic robot. It’s clear he’s finding it difficult to be taken seriously as a credible threat. And every time things seem to be looking up for Victor, something happens with the script or horrible CGI. Despite his popularity as a character and his continued attempts at world domination, Doom has been done no favours on screen. But if Odin can come back from the dead we hope Marvel does too as we believe there’s still hope for better days ahead for Doctor Doom.
With that being said, these are the 4 Doctor Doom moments that prove why he’s better than Thanos –
He Sold Doctor Strange To Mephisto
Sometimes, for the greater good, people with little in common must work together to overcome a larger foe. In Doctor Doom’s case, he struggled to free his mother from Mephisto’s grasp after the demon tricked him into thinking his mother was sick and needed an operation. Unfortunately for Doom, he realized too late that Mephisto tricked him into giving up his own soul. This led to an eventual change of heart and a desire to save others thanks to his belief that humanity’s potential is limitless. Although Doom is often portrayed as purely evil despite doing some selfless things, it shows that sometimes we should not judge a book by its cover given the situation when a hero may be made or unmade through allegiances to people who may have questionable reputations themselves.
Doom Used Galactus To Become God
In the 80s crossover event, Secret Wars, a group of villains and heroes are brought together by the Beyonder. These two groups are pitted against each other and can only win if they “slay your enemies and all you desire shall be yours.” However, Doc Doom isn’t playing around. He begins to devise a plan to bring down the Beyonder by using a device that pulls out every drop of power from every superhero on Battleworld. Doom succeeds in defeating any foe he faces before setting his sights on ultimate triumph: taking down God himself! After successfully becoming supremely powerful, Doom seeks out new challenges… which was perhaps another big mistake.
Doom Managed To Attack SHIELD With The Russian Doll Robots
While Victor has had better luck in the animated world, he’s still managed to get some work done in Hollywood. Take his appearance during an episode of Ultimate Spider-Man for example. In Doomed, the young heroes set out to prove themselves by catching SHIELD’s number one most wanted supervillain, Doctor Doom. The kids seem to do well at first, successfully capturing Doom and returning him to the Shield Helicarrier. Soon, Doom reveal that he was not captured and instead sent his Mark 6 Hoberman a fancy term for Doombot with a bunch of miniature Doombots inside each. One by one they destroy the helicarrier. And all onboard resulted in chaos among H.Y.D.R.A., even killing Madame Valerie and Nick Fury Jr.’s mother in the process.
He Proved His Worth To The Panther God
Doctor Doom, always the evil genius, decided to test his super-genius abilities by conquering Wakanda. But T’Challa was up to the challenge. Rather than go head to head with Doom himself, he hid the vibranium behind a series of locks. The last of these locks were deemed “worthy” of the attention of the Panther God herself. And when she summoned him to her domain, Doctor Doom used his superior intellect to outwit his opponent. Next thing you know the Panther God is shaking hands with Doom on reaching an agreement that bettering oneself does not mean one cannot be powerful or still be bad. In fact, it frees one from internal conflict which has been holding him/her back from being the truest self.
