Let’s have a quick look at some of the popular fan theories which will shock you!
1) Shaggy the Pothead
Amongst the various fan theories, this long-lasting and high-standing fan theory purports Shaggy as a total pothead. It is shown several times and at several levels. Shaggy is always paranoid about the existence of ghosts. He spends most of his time blabbering to his dog. His personality does relatively fit stereotypical pothead to a T.
2) The Gang Live in Post
Scooby-Doo Gang is almost always creeping around shoddy places like run-down hotels, abandoned theme parks, etc. The villains in the series try to pull off money-making schemes. These are generally intelligent, highly employable people like scientists, entrepreneurs, etc. These theories are laid before people during the Depression when they could not find work in poor economic conditions. Also, it depicts that Shaggy could never afford food for Scooby and himself. Being a vigilante detective does not pay the bills. Instead, the pair almost exclusively lived off of biscuits. If they come across real hot meals, they are filled with enthusiasm because they are usually starving.
3) Scooby-doo exists in-universe with supernatural entities
This theory focuses on the existence of supernatural entities in the Scooby-Doo world. The genuine monsters in “Scooby-Doo! The zombie island” exist in a secluded area and are killed by people. These monsters get sealed in remote locations.
4) Velma Is a Lesbian
This theory suggests that Velma is Lesbian, although the writer put her and Shaggy in a relationship in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. It is observed that Velma gets jealous when Daphne always picks Fred as her number one. She didn’t feel right. Velma does not have any boyfriend. When she gets Shaggy, she feels he is unsuitable as he chooses his dog over her. The given theory gets backed by think pieces written by emerging writers. This theory suggests that Velma might be a lesbian who has not come out of her closet.
