5 Characters Who Randomly Disappeared From TV Shows
Every TV show fan has experienced the level of frustration it leaves behind when a major character disappears all of a sudden. While there could be ‘n’ number of reasons behind why the characters (or the actor) suddenly have to walk away, the most prominent ones include reasons such as scheduling conflicts, sudden replacements, pay-scale issues, and health emergencies. With that said, these are the 5 characters who randomly disappeared from TV shows –
Denise Huxtable
While it might look a bit ironic now, Bill Cosby was quite adamant about The Cosby Show that it’d be all about family and their values. In fact, Cosby made all the artists who were working and playing the Huxtable kids sign some legal morality clauses. When Denise, the second eldest daughter, left the show all of a sudden, the character got written out of all the series thereafter. Apparently, the actress who was portraying Denise, Lisa Bonet, got married and then pregnant. This is what made the makers of the show feel that it’d not look good for The Cosby Show. After a few years when Lisa’s daughter grew up, she returned to the franchise but again stepped out and never returned.
Dr. Erica Hahn
When Dr. Erica Hahn stepped into Grey’s Anatomy, her presence brought a lot of significant changes to the show. With that said, her relationship with Callie Torres is what squeezed out McSteamy and George. That is when the concept of having a lesbian relationship got introduced in the show in a very thoughtful way. When Dr. Hahn won millions of dollars after winning the lawsuit, fans didn’t get a chance to process why she left all of a sudden. The rumors echoed loud that she left because she went too nervous about the show going “too gay-ish.” As a result, she decided to leave just like that.
Professor Michelle
TV show lovers of course remember Community. They will remember how Jeff was asked to decide between Michelle and Britta in the very first season of the show. But apparently, when the show finally took a direction towards Professor Michelle Slater, the character vanished. The rumors and predictions of the critics went not that far and echoed loud that maybe the character was too dedicated towards the institution’s policy of not dating students. Else, why’d the character left just like that?
Mr. Turner
Every TV show lover must remember the coolest TV teacher of all time, Mr. Turner from Boy Meets World. While the character was ridiculously cool, he was too prominent at teaching life lessons to the students. In season 4 of the show, Mr. Turner apparently met a horrific accident and that was perhaps the last time fans ever saw him. After that very episode, there was no sign of Mr. Turner and fans got quite curious to know what happened to the character thereafter? With that being said, after quite a couple of years, Anthony Tyler Quinn (who played Mr. Turner) returned playing the character in the spin-off version of Boy Meets World, Girls Meets World. He survived the accident and managed to become the superintendent of the NYC schools.
Detective Kate
After Buffy and Angel decided that they could not live together, the vamp headed towards LA to start his own business. With that being said, he collaborated with Detective Kate Lockley to echo more about his supernatural kinds of stuff. However, it was the exact time when the makers thought to bring some changes to the show’s format. As a result, they decided to remove this very character of Detective Kate overnight. That is when the character vanished all of a sudden after attempting suicide.
