5 Unpopular Opinions About Disney+’s Hawkeye
Marvel’s latest Disney+ show, Hawkeye, has broken all the stereotypical takes on how a superhero should be. Perhaps that is why fans are thriving and sharing some really unpopular opinions about the show on social media. If there is anything that makes the Marvel Cinematic Universe stand different this year, it is the portrayal of Clint Barton’s journey as a superhero. From Jeremy Renner’s acting to the show’s childish plot, there are various controversial points that fans could pick up and debate about. However, out of all the trending unpopular opinions about Hawkeye on social media, these are the top (or say the most common) ones –
Superheroes Are Supposed To Have Superpowers
One of the most common definitions of being a superhero is having some sort of superpower(s). In this regard, Disney+’s Hawkeye took it to the next level and acknowledged the fact that an individual can be a superhero by possessing some significant skills and talents. However, most viewers think that superheroes are incomplete without actual superpowers and could easily die just like any other human being. With that being said, Clint Barton’s lack of superpowers doesn’t make him any less than a powerful superhero. In fact, the skills and persona he possesses, make him way more admirable than most of the Avengers out there.
Hawkeye Should Get An Iron Suit
Some fans are not really happy with the human angle of Marvel and Disney+’s Hawkeye. In fact, they are taking it on social media that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark should have developed Iron Suits for some Avengers at least, for example, Hawkeye. It’d have helped Clint by making his costume go more powerful, bulletproof, and indeed useful. Precisely, some viewers believe that Hawkeye is too vulnerable and could become a weakness at some point in life. However, the Marvel and Disney+ series has echoed loud that Clint Barton manages to recover and survive even after going through a grueling battle. In this regard, an Iron Suit will not only slow Clint down but it’d also become something that’d raise questions on Hawkeye’s skills and abilities.
What A Boring Series!
Each and every single episode depicts an exhilarating story where Kate and Clint work together to unfold the conspiracy surrounding them. This type of plot was not really something that Marvel fans expected after watching series like Loki and What If…?. As a result, most of the viewers found Hawkeye quite underwhelming. The reason behind this could be the show’s slow pace as well. Moreover, the street-level fight story is necessarily not supposed to suit each and every single type of crowd. But now that Marvel Studios has finally stepped into the concept of Multiverse, Hawkeye’s story was essential to unfold the roots at some point.
The Plot Could Have Been Better
Most people who streamed Marvel and Disney+’s Hawkeye found the show’s plot really childish. Many even echoed loud that such types of shows are meant for children below the age of 12. On one hand, the show depicts that Kate is a normal girl who is now started taking archery lessons, all of a sudden she starts fighting 20 muscular Russian mobs. Well, ok, some parts of it were really childish. However, the emotional narrative of the story is not really childish. How Clint struggles after taking the guilt of Natasha Romanoff’s Death during the Endgame was something really essential to deliver on-screen. Oh yes, as far as Kate’s abilities are concerned, she has been practicing archery for the last two years before meeting Clint.
Renner Was Dull Most Of The Time
Many Marvel fans agreed that Jeremy Renner is undoubtedly the best cast to play Hawkeye in MCU. While he understands the character and its story, Renner also acknowledges each and every single nuance of his journey. However, some viewers after streaming Hawkeye echoed that Renner is not really a good actor and is apparently boring. On the other hand, fans who have seen his journey ever since his debut would know that no one else could have portrayed the character this well after all. Moreover, his acting and expressions weren’t dull. They were perfect enough to express the grief and pain he gulped after whatever happened in Vormir.
