Being the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world, many women across the world get this diagnosis almost every day. In 2022 alone, 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer according to Healthline. The Office actress Jenna Fischer was diagnosed last year as she went for chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

The actress is now cancer-free as she shared on Instagram. She chose to reveal her diagnosis as well as the news of her recovery at once as she was seemingly coming to terms with the news herself. Nevertheless, the reason she shared was to remind other women to get their mammograms done in time.

Olivia Munn also took to Instagram to share her journey and even give regular updates on her treatments. The actress was diagnosed soon after giving birth to her first child with John Mulaney. After a mammogram, an ultrasound, and a biopsy, the outcome was clear and Munn had to undergo cancer treatment.

Her entire purpose behind sharing her journey, much like Fischer’s, has been to raise awareness and make other women with the same diagnosis feel less alone.

Breast cancer is not a standout disease. With its diagnosis and treatment come more complications that are also tough to handle. Misery actress Kathy Bates developed lymphedema after a double mastectomy, which led to her body parts getting swollen.

The actress has received adequate medical attention for the same and continues to rally behind the cause by being the national spokeswoman for the Lymphatic Education and Research Network.

Before being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021, Christina Applegate battled with breast cancer in 2008. While she caught the tumor in time, her results showed an increased risk of breast cancer. After the necessary treatment, Applegate opened up about the struggle of dealing with the condition.

Moreover, she recently claimed that she should have been authentic in her expression rather than professing self-love at the time. Many women who undergo mastectomies often get scars and cuts on their breasts that can be difficult to come to terms with.
