Crunchyroll is one of the largest online platforms for legally streaming anime, and without a doubt, it has become a staple go-to for anime enthusiasts. It has one of the biggest libraries of anime in the entire world and is quite literally the most convenient way to consume your favorite shows.
If you’ve just purchased the online subscription of this platform, or are thinking of doing it, and do not know which anime you should start watching, this article is your final stop. Here are the fifteen best anime you can binge on Crunchyroll right now, ranked by how good they are.
15. Classroom of the Elite Is a Unique Twist on High School Anime

Classroom of the Elite follows Ayanokoji, who is a genius pretending to be a normal student. He enters a special school, where some of the best minds in the country are under one roof. Heart-thumping challenges, outsmarting other classes, and surviving against deadly manipulators; you name it, and COTE has it.
This anime follows the journey of Ayanokoji Kiyotaka as he tries his best to hide his talents and remain behind the scenes to not let his secrets spill out. However, thanks to his frightening intellect, he only sees his peers as tools to achieve his goal. That said, the students’ constant need to one-up each other might get corny at times, so it will remain at the end of this list.
14. Solo Leveling Is Full of Hype Moments

In Solo Leveling, Hunters enter the dungeons that appear out of thin air and then sell their loot. Everyone’s strength is concrete from the day they become a Hunter, and in this system, Sung Jinwoo started out as the weakest hunter who one day sacrificed himself in a double dungeon. However, he wakes up, finding himself with a game-like system that only he can see.
This system allows him to grow stronger, and he slowly grows, eventually rivaling the strongest hunters in the world. This anime is packed with one after another hype moments. However, that’s all there is. If you are a fan of such moments, this anime is perfect for you. However, the repetitive nature holds this anime at rank 14.
13. My Hero Academia Is the Best Superhero Anime

In the world of My Hero Academia, the majority of the people are born with superpowers. This uniqueness made it so that there are heroes and villains in this world. Standing at the top is All Might, who is basically the strongest person alive, and thankfully, has the spirit of a hero. Deku wants to be like him; however, he is part of the minority that is born without any powers.
This is a story about him doing his best to become the greatest hero in the world. However, while the concept and execution are amazing, this anime suffers from a big down point that lasts multiple seasons. Deku takes a while to become a dependable Hero rather than crying at every minor inconvenience, so it will remain at the 13th spot for now. But worry not, it does deliver an ending like nothing you may have seen before.
12. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime – A Unique Take on Isekai

A normal office worker, one day, gets stabbed by a man and wakes up in another world. However, unlike most isekai protagonists, where the character is born strong, he is born as a weak slime, that too, deep inside a cave. Luckily, he does have a skill that allows him to grow stronger.
We follow the life of this slime as he creates his very own nation and grows into one of the strongest creatures in existence. This is one of the best isekai in the industry. However, it ranks this low because the constant need for political meetings can get really boring.
11. Haikyu!! Is One of the Best Sports Anime of All Time

Haikyu!! is the pinnacle of sports anime. It follows many formulas, but it executes each one of them perfectly. Hinata is someone who simply loves volleyball. There is no tragic backstory or grand reason for his efforts.
This anime is perfect for you if you want to just sit back and enjoy nice, hyped up games of volleyball that are actually quite realistic as well. The anime makes sure to dive into each character’s backstory, making everything feel more dramatic. However, it ranks low because if you’ve seen other sports anime, the results can get predicting.
10. Demon Slayer Is the Perfect Hero’s Journey

The Hero’s Journey story structure, which was made by Joseph Campbell, is executed perfectly here. Tanjiro one day loses his family after it is attacked by a demon. His sister also turns into a demon, and he goes on his journey to find a cure. He gets stronger, fights more demons, gets setbacks, learns something new, all in order to one day defeat the big bad demon.
However, while it is good in that regard, this concrete structure is a double-edged sword, as the entire plot gets really predictable. The only reason this anime even gets a place in this ranking is that it has done what it has done to perfection. For example, it offers some of the best fights in the industry.
9. Gachiakuta – A Modern Masterpiece

Rudo, a boy from the slums falsely accused of murder, is thrown into a literal wasteland of junk. The metaphor writes itself, and the anime sticks to it really hard. This anime works because it is very unfiltered. Rudo isn’t chosen to be a hero, and he doesn’t have any predetermined fantasy either; he is simply furious and desperate, which makes you want to root for him even more.
However, this anime also sits in the bottom half of this ranking because it’s still finding its footing. The pacing is not good in the mid-arc of the anime, and the side characters are not that fleshed out, yet. However, moving forward, we can easily expect this anime to be one of the best action shonen in the industry.
8. Fire Force Challenges Many Tropes in Action Anime

Fire Force burns bright with a genuinely gripping premise – special units fighting against humans who spontaneously combust into fire demons – and Shinra’s underdog energy makes him an amazing protagonist.
The religious cult vibes and the mystery surrounding the Great Cataclysm give the story real depth beneath the amazing action scenes. But it ranks lower because the series constantly undercuts its own tension with misplaced fan service that breaks immersion at the worst moments. While it is later revealed to be relevant, it does affect the initial experience.
7. Dr. Stone Will Make You Want to Open a Science Book

Dr. Stone is a shonen anime that breaks all the rules. There are no superpowers, there is no super villain either. The story starts when all of humanity gets petrified by a mysterious green light. After about 3000 years, Senku wakes up, and nature has taken over everything. His goal is now simple: speedrun humanity.
It turns out that he is a genius with all the science knowledge in his brain, and he starts using it to revive people who have been turned into stone, and eventually finds his own science kingdom. This anime recently reached an amazing end as well. However, it doesn’t manage to rank much higher because in the latter half of the anime, the pacing gets too fast, which may be repelling to a lot.
6. The Apothecary Diaries Is the Perfect Mystery Romance Anime

Maomao is an apothecary in a world that is inspired by Imperial China. One day, she gets kidnapped, and he sold to the palace, where she is forced to work as a normal laundry maid. However, one day, she solves a mystery in the palace out of curiosity and gets the attention of Jinshi, the one who manages everyone.
The story moves forward with their budding romance, and shows a great amount of mysteries and detective work, with the quality that you may not even see in most mystery-focused anime. With 2 seasons out and a movie confirmed, Apothecary Diaries is going strong and is totally worth your time.
5. One Piece Is Going Even Stronger

Entering the top five, One Piece is one of the most recognizable anime in the industry. We follow Luffy, who wants to be the king of the pirates by finding the One Piece, which is a treasure at the end of the seas. He gathers a crew, fights the marines that control the world, and even the pirates that do not understand the real nature of adventure, and helps people who are in need from island to island.
While it sounds simple, there is a surprising amount of depth in this anime that the fans appreciate. It’s best if you’re looking for an anime that will consume your life in a good way, for it has over 1000 episodes, and it’s still going strong.
4. Mushoku Tensei Is an Isekai About Second Chances

Mushoku Tensei is another isekai in this ranking. Rudeus was a good-for-nothing middle-aged man in Japan. He gets thrown out of his own house, but then dies while saving some students from an oncoming truck. He then wakes up in another world, where he decides to overcome all of his traumas and shortcomings one by one, and genuinely turns into a good person.
The animation and the cinematic experience of this anime are amazing. Furthermore, unlike most Isekaai anime, you get to watch Rudeus grow up instead of him becoming a teenager by the second episode. With the sequel releasing next month, it’s the perfect time to binge this anime. However, the top three still trump this anime as of writing, so it stays at number four.
3. Fate/Strange Fake Is Full of Action Fan Service

Fate/Strange Fake is one of those anime that does one thing, and it does it perfectly. There is perhaps no anime in this ranking that even comes close to this anime when it comes to pure action choreography and animations. The story is written by the creator of Baccano, which shows because you get to enjoy the story from many different perspectives.
However, it is part of a bigger Fate universe, which makes it a confusing first watch. And often, it relies on actual history knowledge to even understand what is going on in the story, which is the only reason this anime doesn’t rank at two or one.
2. Jujutsu Kaisen – A Cinematic Masterpiece

Jujutsu Kaisen is a name that rarely needs an introduction. Yuji Itadori is a normal high school student, albeit the fact that his strength is beyond normal. One day, he eats a cursed object that revives a thousand-year-old evil entity inside him. This gets him an immediate death sentence. However, Gojo Satoru gives him a choice that he can eat more cursed objects of the same entity called Sukuna, that is, practically his other fingers, and then he will be killed.
Life, of course, doesn’t go that simply, as there are cursed spirits that are plotting their own schemes in the background, and Yuji becomes the most wanted person. This anime ranks this high because it does everything really well. The animations are eye candy, the cinematography is straight out of a high-budget movie, and the hype is unmatched; lastly, MAPPA has done a phenomenal job in dictating a story that’s quite complicated to begin with.
1. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End – A Genre Defining Anime

Ranking at the top, we have Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. This anime takes a genre that is really saturated, and then breaks every single rule in it. Usually, the fantasy stories revolve around a hero’s party that is trying to kill the demon lord. However, the story in this anime takes place after that adventure is over. Furthermore, we get to see everything from the perspective of an elf, for whom 10 years of adventure was a very short amount of time.
During that entire adventure, she never connected with anyone. However, when the hero finally dies, she realizes that she knew nothing about him at all. So, she makes her new journey to the same place, this time trying her best to connect with humans. This is a very laid-back anime that often feels slow in a good way. Even then, when there are action scenes, it does it better than any other anime, which makes it rank at the top.
