The series also boasts an intricate storyline packed with twists and turns that are guaranteed to keep you hooked from start to finish. Therefore, it becomes necessary to keep track of all the story arcs in Gachiakuta; otherwise, some key information may get overlooked.
Currently, there are 10 story arcs in Gachiakuta, comprising 171 chapters (as of July 15, 2026). Season 1 of the anime adaptation consists of 24 episodes and adapts up to Chapter 85 of the manga, as both Episode 24 and Chapter 85 are titled “Field Trip.“
Now, here’s a list of every Gachiakuta story arc, highlighting the major story pivots in each of them that are essential to remember before moving forward. Because if you don’t, the impact of certain revelations may not hit you the same.

1. Ground Wanderer Arc
The introductory arc of Gachiakuta lays much of the groundwork for many major revelations later on. The Ground Wanderer Arc beautifully shows us the ecosystem of both the Sphere and the Ground. However, the major event to remember from this arc is Regto’s assassination. Who was that masked individual?
Thanks to the incident, Rudo is forced to follow the anime’s storyline by being thrown into the Pit. Down there, on the Ground, he unlocks his Giver powers and soon after meets Enjin, one of the Cleaners. The arc also sets the protagonist’s main objective: to someday return to the Sphere and uncover Regto’s killer.
2. Workplace Observation Arc

The Workplace Observation Arc is a rather slow arc, focusing more on new character introductions and further worldbuilding. Apart from Rudo meeting Riyo, Corvus, Gris, Follo, and others, the most significant moment occurs when he encounters Zanka.
We also get to learn more about what the Cleaners actually do here. Learning about the principles behind Vital Instruments, the basis of Gachiakuta‘s power system, is one of the most unique shonen experiences. Also, in this very arc, the existence of an organization called the Raiders is teased.
3. Raiders Trap Arc

During a rescue mission, Rudo joins the Cleaners. He is willing to work with them because he hopes their leader may have some information that can help him return to the Sphere. However, in the Raiders Trap Arc, Rudo faces his first life-or-death battle against Jabber. It is a treat to behold for shonen fans.
Though Zanka ends up winning the fight by a small margin, the arc establishes Rudo as an important figure to multiple factions.
4. Successor Spellcaster Arc

In search of more information regarding the Border, Rudo, accompanied by the other Cleaners, heads to Penta. However, on their way, they take a little detour to Canvas Town to meet a Giver who can cast protection spells on Givers. Of course, things do not go as smoothly as the Giver, Gob, is found dead during the arc.
However, after a dramatic turn of events, the Jinki is transferred to his successor, Remlin. Finally, Remlin casts the protection spells, and the group heads to Penta once again.
5. The Lady of Penta Arc

The Lady of Penta Arc is a rather important arc, mainly because it introduces Amo, a woman who claims to have seen people cross the Border. Amo is also revealed to possess the Watchman Series boots, which shakes up the storyline to another great degree. The revelation of her past was also traumatic; in fact, the most traumatic in the anime so far, probably even worse than Rudo’s.
However, the biggest twist of the arc is Amo getting kidnapped by a mysterious figure. We never get to see who that person actually is.
6. Trash Storm Arc

The Trash Storm Arc is one of the most action-heavy arcs, and also the latest arc adapted in the anime so far. It is also the longest arc in the manga, spanning 38 chapters. The fights between several Cleaners and the Raiders take place in this arc. It is also where the Raiders’ ambitions are finally revealed. Zodyl confirms that it is possible to cross the Border with certain measures, and by doing so, he wishes to declare war against Heaven. By the end of the arc, Zodyl assigns Bundus to investigate the Giver who created the Chokers.
The arc also gives us our first proper look at the entity called the Watchman, who resides at the Border between the Ground and the Sphere. It also makes it clear that while Rudo’s goal is to return to the Sphere, he is not willing to abandon his newfound comrades in the process.
7. Heritage Mural Arc

Rudo’s world is turned upside down in this arc, as he learns that his surname is the same as Canis Surebrec, one of the legendary Watchman Series users. But what is even more surprising is the reveal that Rudo’s ancestor could freely travel between the Sphere and the Pit. As a result, Rudo’s goal shifts to collecting all the Watchman Series Jinki.
Another important clue revealed is that the Chokers were likely created by a ‘Series’ Giver. Plus, we learn more about Amo’s kidnapping. Zanka’s older sister (who also happens to be Enjin’s former partner) is introduced as the captain of the Hell Guards.
8. Information Broker Arc

The arc also introduces several key players and future conflicts. The mysterious Information Broker becomes an important source of knowledge about the world’s hidden history. It is revealed that he is over 100 years old. Also, thanks to him, the Cleaners gain new leads regarding the Raiders, the Choker, and the larger conspiracy surrounding Rudo.
Interestingly, we also learn that the Border is either a byproduct of or the actual entity known as the mysterious Watchman. These revelations significantly broaden the scope of the story. However, the biggest shock of the arc is learning that Tamsy has been the Angel who can cross the Border at will.
9. First Job Arc

Rudo finally embraces his new identity as “Rudo Surebrec the Cleaner” instead of the outcast from the Sphere. He is then assigned his first independent mission by Semiu, accompanied by Tamsy and several Supporters. But that’s where things get interesting.
Follo becomes one of the central figures in the arc, and Rudo and Tamsy team up for several major events. Things spiral out of control when Follo loses control of his emotions, forcing Rudo to confront the harsh reality that missions rarely go as planned. Some of Tamsy’s plans are also revealed in this arc.
10. Doll Festival Arc

Finally, we reach the ongoing and probably one of the most lore-heavy arcs in the manga. The Doll Festival Arc reveals that the mysterious White Crow is actually Too Lily, who delivers a special Choker from the Choker Maker, Gountess, to Rudo. More information related to the Chokers is unveiled as well.
The arc’s biggest revelation is that Mymo has been secretly using the Choker system to mind-control its users and attempts to establish himself as the Supreme Ruler of the Ground.
Also, the long-forgotten concept of the Ancient Rulers, or “gods,” is revealed to some degree. We then see Rudo resolve to combine his own Watchman Series powers with Gountess’s Connect to stop Mymo, which becomes a major turning point in the series.
