It was expected that the well-known manga would eventually be adapted into an anime, and David Production took on the project.

Fans are giddy with anticipation over the cast announcement of the much-awaited live-action movie adaptation of the popular anime series Cells at Work! Mei Nagano will play the red blood cell, which is the primary character, while, Takeru Sato will play the white blood cell.

The new teaser reveals that Warner Bros. is staying true to the look of the iconic anime series, even though a live-action version of this tale may seem unlikely. To put it mildly, Cells at Work! is a success story, since author Akane Shimizu’s manga led to an endless number of spin-offs, even though the franchise started only in 2015. You can watch the live-action trailer below:

The film, which is based on Akane Shimizu’s original material, is scheduled to debut in Japanese theaters in December 2024. Japanese manga series Cells at Work! captured the attention of readers when it was serialized in Monthly Shōnen Sirius, a publication of Kodansha, from January 2015 to January 2021.
