Spoiler Alert!!

After the success of MCU’s first Disney+ series, WandaVision, Marvel is back again with a spin-off series, Agatha All Along, based on the villain of the original show. WandaVision‘s ending showed Wanda casting a delusion spell on Agatha Harkness, and the events of the new show take place 3 years after that.

Harkness has been shown as the primary reason behind the drastic change in the character arc of Wanda Maximoff as Scarlett Witch in WandaVision. And since Marvel is known for its Easter eggs and hidden connections, Agatha All Along also features many callbacks in its premiere episodes 1 and 2.

Dead Witches in the Opening Scenes

The first episode of the series featured an opening credits scene, which is much like the TV theme opening of WandaVision‘s episode. In quick cut scenes, images of power-absorbed, dead Salem-era witches can be seen, which look like those who were killed by Harkness in WandaVision.

In the series, Harkness finds a library slip among the belongings of a dead body who is suspected to be of Maximoff, especially due to her black fingers. The slip mentions a book named Dialogue and Rhetoric: Known History of Learning and Debate, which is an acronym for ‘Darkhold’. Moreover, the author’s name Andrew Ugo is an anagram for ‘Wundagore’.

Harkness finds out that the book was stolen 3 years ago, and it was then when Maximoff defeated her in WandaVision and took away the Darkhold to look for her kids in the multiverse.

Harkness finds a locket that belonged to her, although she is not aware of it. She lets the pawn shop guy examine it, who mentions that it belonged to 17th-century New England. It belonged to her mother whom she killed to draw powers. Harkness was seen wearing the locket throughout WandaVision.

After Maximoff took hostage the entire Westview and manipulated their minds and lives according to her will, it is quite natural for the people to be bitter about her. When Harkness realizes she has missed 3 years of her life because of her, she asks her neighbor to tell her all about what she missed. Herb responds by saying that they don’t take her name.

When Harkness finally gets to her senses, Herb tells her that she was “loose with boundaries” as a neighbor. Harkness remembers the time when Maximoff cast her spell on her, saying she would serve as a nosy neighbor of Westview. Harkness then threatens Herb not to call her “nosy“.

When Harkness tries to free herself from Scarlet Witch’s spell, she goes through all the versions that she portrayed in the hex in WandaVision. She reveals her 60s and 70s outfits, her 80s workout outfit, and finally returns back to the original outfit of the present day in Westview.

Harkness pays a visit to Maximoff’s home that she envisioned in WandaVision. The place was covered with slogans like “evil witch” and cut over Scarlett Witch’s headpiece, which shows how Westview residents feel about Maximoff. Harkness also spits in front of their house in despise.

Sharon Davis aka Mrs. Hart’s Heart Reference

In Agatha All Along, Kathryn Hahn‘s character Agatha Harkness is trying to put together a coven in order to walk the Witches’ Road to gain her powers back. In doing so, she realizes the shortage of a Green Witch who does earth magic. Patti LuPone’s character Lilia Calderu reveals that she didn’t add a last name to the list of coven. Instead, she just drew a black heart.

Harkness then goes to recruit Debra Jo Rupp’s character Sharon Davis, who was known as Mrs. Hart in Maximoff’s imaginary sitcom in WandaVision. There, it was shown that Vision’s calendar had a black heart marked on the date when Mr. and Mrs. Hart had dinner with Maximoff and Vision. This black heart connection was as unexpected as hilarious.

Agatha All Along will be 9 episodes long and is building its pace as of now. As the witch is on her journey to regain her powers back and more with the help of the coven, it will be interesting to see if there will be any betrayal incoming.

Agatha All Along drops new episodes every Wednesday on Disney+.
