Arrowverse Crisis Crossover Will Finally Put Tom Welling In Iconic Superman Suit
Seeing Tom Welling in the iconic Superman red-and-blue suit was a dream which Smallville fans never really saw come true. But Arrowverse’s Crisis On Infinite
This year’s Arrowverse crossover, Crisis On Infinite Earths has fulfilled one thing which fans have been waiting for years. That was to see Tom Welling back as Superman. This return could also possibly mean that fans will finally be able to get the Smallville ending which they wanted.
Smallville’s Ending Was A Huge Disappointment For Fans
Smallville was conceived as a TV show about teenage Clark Kent on his way to become Superman. As such it followed a strict “No Tights, No Flights” rule. Due to this, most of the series was about Clark becoming Superman and not being Superman. Smallville stuck to their basic ground rule even after he learned how to use most of his powers, fought Led Luthor and got a job at the Daily Planet.
Smallville ended with Clark Kent learning how to fly and becoming the Man of Steel. The finale episode gave fans a brief glimpse at Smallville’s Clark in costume as Superman for the first time ever in the show. But not only was the moment way too short, but fans didn’t actually get to see Welling in the full Superman costume. Safe to say, it was a massive disappointment for many fans.
Crisis On Infinite Earths Will Give The Dream Smallville Ending
The annual Arrowverse crossover for the 2019-2020 season, Crisis on Infinite Earths is bringing back Erica Durance’s Lois Lane and Tom Welling’s Clark Kent after 8 years. This has happily shocked fans of Smallville and it also means that the crossover will act as an epilogue of the show. Crisis on Infinite Earths is slated to reveal what Clark has been doing since Smallville ended. At this point in time, Clark has been Superman for eight years. So fans should get ready to see a side of Welling’s Superman which wasn’t seen before. Also maybe we will get to see the Kent farm again? Although it was confirmed that it exists on Earth 38 as well! (We love seeing all these little tidbits which prove that some things don’t change even over different earths)
Since Smallville is over now, it means Clark can fully embrace becoming Superman. This means flying around in full costume too we hope. We for one can’t wait to see Welling’s Superman helping the Arrowverse trinity and saving the world with Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh’s Supermen.
