Agatha All Along premiered its first two episodes on September 18, and so far it is looking quite good. The story starts 3 years after the events of WandaVision in Westview, and Kathryn Hahn‘s Agatha Harkness is shown breaking Wanda Maximoff’s spell and getting back her senses.

Aubrey Plaza‘s Rio Vidal helps Harkness get back her sanity, as she was the only one who knew her reality. Now, the latter is trying to get back her powers with the help of a coven as they walk through the Witches Road.

It was already speculated that Plaza would join the MCU. The actress has just made her debut in this universe, and a recent report from insider Daniel Richtman (via Patreon) is already saying that she will be seen more in the upcoming MCU projects after Agatha All Along.

This raised the hopes of fans. After watching the fight between two of the baddest witches, Scarlet Witch and Agatha Harkness, in WandaVision, many fans now wish for a showdown between Maximoff and Vidal.

Although Agatha All Along might have hinted at Maximoff’s death so far, it is still doubtful that Marvel would just let some multiverse-level entity, who has been there for so many years, die without a proper conclusion. Moreover, Elizabeth Olsen also said in an interview with Dublin radio outlet FM104 that she would be “happy to come back” (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Besides that, WandaVision and Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer said in her Variety interview that she is “hoping for a Scarlet Witch movie.” And according to fans’ demands, it would be a nice opportunity to bring Plaza back again.

Some even hope for Rio Vidal to get the Loki treatment where he seemingly died multiple times, came back again to cause havoc, and then actually died, until he returned again in another timeline. As Agatha All Along reveals its story, the viewers will get a better picture of Plaza’s character and her possible future.

Aubrey Plaza’s Character and Her Possible Role

The first two episodes of Agatha All Along never really clarify Vidal’s intentions. However, the first episode hinted that she had a history with Harkness, possibly a romantic one that didn’t end well. Besides that, Plaza herself told in an interview with Variety,

It better be, cause that’s what I signed up for. It will be a gay explosion by the end of it.

Harkness’ backstory also allows this possibility, as she is more than 400 years old, which allows her to have multiple romantic attachments. Besides that, her opportunist nature also allows the possibility of a betrayal in the past, which strained her relationship with Vidal.

Whether Vidal is there to support her former love or whether she has her personal agenda is yet to be seen. However, she might be Mephisto’s child, Blackheart, because of the “Blackheart” connection that was seen in the show.

What makes Plaza’s character more interesting is that she is not based on any comic book character, unlike the other witches in the show. This gives freedom to the creators to experiment with her, and if Vidal gets enough love from the viewers, her chances to appear again will increase too.

Agatha All Along drops a new episode every Wednesday on Disney+.
