Voted by IMDb users, the list has gone through various changes over the years, giving fans a perfect blend of contemporary and classic films. To qualify, a film should have at least 25,000 ratings on their website. The formula places a really high value on those from the more established ones.

Despite the immense success rate among critics and widespread popularity, the MCU has only claimed for a couple of spots on the whole list. In the minds of IMDb voters, Infinity War and Guardians of the Galaxy are the best options offered by the franchise at the time of this writing. However, Marvel has now soared up the charts.

Currently, Endgame is #5 on the top 50 IMDb list with an impressive rating of 8.9. The Dark Knight, The Shawashank Redemption, The Godfather (Part I and II). Check the screenshot out here:

What’s exceptionally incredible is that Endgame just came out in theatres, preview screenings for the film in United States happened on Tuesday, ie. April 25. However, the film sold advanced tickets pretty quickly, so it shouldn’t be surprising for Endgame to secure so many votes like it did after playing for just a few hours.

Endgame is the culmination of 22 films and 11 years of storytelling. It’s one of the most anticipated films of the year in sometime now. Keeping all these things in mind, fans didn’t really wish to waste any of their time in giving their approval to the film. Many fans firmly believe that the film lives up to the expectations and hype by serving as an emotional payoff for all the MCU fans till date. Once more, directors Anthony and Joe Russo delivered something absolutely stunning!

However, even then, many die hard MCU fans may admit that Endgame at #5, ahead of many classics, is a little hyperbolic. But then one should understand the nature of IMDb where it isn’t uncommon for the most recent films of massive franchises to get placed in the Top 250 right after their release, only to go down with the passage of time. Those who saw Endgame on its opening night were the most excited ones. For now, it would shock many if Endgame went down the list as more fans see it and rate it. However, at the end of the day, it will get a lower ranking.
