  • Here's a look at where the main cast members of Baywatch ended up.

There was a time when nobody could have imagined a show set on the beach with a bunch of lifeguards running around. And then came Baywatch. The show completely changed the television landscape of the 1990s as new and fresh perspectives were embraced rather than mindlessly discarded.

Created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz, and Gregory J. Bonann, the drama show ran for 11 glorious seasons with a focus on different characters in Lieutenant Mitch Buchannon’s team. Apart from the beautiful cinematography that focused on the beaches of Los Angeles County, California, and Hawaii, Baywatch had a considerable storyline to pull as well.

And that plot could never have been successful without the talented actors who brought the characters to life. It has been 23 years since the show formally ended, but it still remains in the memories of true fans. Here’s a look at where the cast of Baywatch ended up in the present.

For the longest time, David Hasselhoff was deemed one of the most handsome men in the industry. From diverse television roles to taking the big screen by storm, the actor has done everything imaginable. He led the show Baywatch and played Mitch Buchannon. Even now, the actor does not look like he’s 72 years old. His youthful spirit and jovial nature make him a magnetic figure on screen. He shared his fondness for the show with People,

I think my favorite thing about Baywatch was the fact that it was all run by us. The show was canceled, we brought it back, and there [were] four of us. So one of us was a writer, one of us was a director, one of us was the lifeguard, and David Hasselhoff was the PR guy, the star, keeping up the morale.

Moreover, the Baywatch actor went international with Ze Network, a German spy comedy. For younger fans, they can recognize Hasselhoff from projects like Guardians of the Galaxy and Young Sheldon. Nevertheless, his incredible work ethic has allowed him to continue working to date.

Playing Hobie Buchannon in Baywatch, Jeremy Jackson beat Leonardo DiCaprio to bag the role. Hobie is the son of Mitch Buchannon who loves to surf and accompany his dad on the beach. Jackson has had the second-longest arc on the show, appearing in 159 episodes of Baywatch.

Talking about his arc on the show, he told Digital Journal,

What I loved most about playing Hobie was getting to do what I always wanted to do and was already doing. I was a child of a single parent. I lived at the beach. I looked up to the lifeguards, being on the beach as a kid, and I really liked their lifestyle…. It was like showing up for my dream life every day.

Jackson had a turbulent time after the show ended as he attended rehab, was kicked off a reality show, and even served jail time. Reportedly, the actor is leading a different life now and undergoing a transformative journey.

There has been a recent resurgence in the popularity of Pamela Anderson, the Canadian-American model and actress. Ever since she released a documentary based on her life that charts her stardom from her Baywatch days to being considered a s*x icon for the world, people have seen her in a completely different light.

She is not just Baywatch’s Casey Jean Parker as we knew her, but rather so much more than that. The actress has also ventured into political activism and raising awareness for various social causes.

The 57-year-old actress is enjoying motherhood and a few moments of solitude in Canada lately. Away from the blinding light of cameras and attention, Anderson is leading a calm life and focusing on things that matter to her including renovating her grandmother’s legacy property.

Yasmine Bleeth

More than being Chandler and Joey’s favorite actress from the show, Yasmine Bleeth played an interesting character with vast storylines on Baywatch. Caroline Holden became a main character only after season 5 when the makers realized Bleeth’s popularity and stardom. Recalling her first tryst with Baywatch, Bleeth told Conan O’Brien,

I actually didn’t audition for the show. I did a guest spot and I actually did my audition in full dress — I had jeans on and [a] T-shirt. And then they called about five or six months later and offered me the part. So I never actually had to show my wears, so to speak.

After the show ended, Bleeth went down a dark path laden with drugs and other issues. The actress had a tough time getting back on track.

Nevertheless, she managed to beat the addiction and regain control of her life. In 2021, the actress decided to return to acting with Whack the Don, a small 2021 comedy directed by William Dear. Gradually, fans hope Bleeth makes a full comeback into the movie industry.

Though his role in the drama show was limited to the Hawaii segment, he made quite an impact which led to his burgeoning stardom in modern Hollywood.

Then, with ventures like Game of Thrones and DC’s Aquaman, Momoa found unprecedented success that he enjoys to date. He was married to Lisa Bonet for seven years before parting ways recently. A few of Momoa’s upcoming projects include Fast X: Part 2, Animal Friends, and A Minecraft Movie.

Baywatch is just one of the hundred projects Alexandra Paul has been a part of. She played Caroline’s sister Stephanie Holden on the show, being one of the significant characters in the show. More than acting, she has shifted focus to animal rights, health coaching, and political activism.

Paul is focusing on more pertinent social issues as well, away from the Hollywood limelight. However, she did appear in 3 movies in 2019 including Escaping My Stalker, Pink Skies Ahead, and The Estate. Following that, she also appeared in Baby Steps and Tethered.
