Ben Affleck is going through some personal struggles in life but he may return to the big screen, though it still remains to be seen if he’ll be back as Batman.

It was reported by TMZ that Affleck was spotted taking a break from his rehab, attending a studio meeting with Warner Bros. He was also seen at the office clutching a script in his hands. Now, it looks like he might be gearing up for a project though it’s not been confirmed by Warner Bros. yet, leaving all fans to wonder if they’ll get to see him returning under the cape and cowl to the DCEU.

The report further reveals that Affleck is still under treatment but has taken breaks to manage some business. Many fans even speculate that Affleck is currently getting back in shape for his role as The Dark Knight. Affleck has been a frequent collaborator with Warner Bros., having made films like Argo, The Town and Live by Night together.

However, it’s highly unlikely that the paper Affleck is seen clutching is actually the script for Matt Reeves’ The Batman, as that would’ve been kept under the lock, like most superhero films these days. Either way, reports claim that the production on the upcoming Batman film will begin in 2019, with its filming speculated to begin in the summer.

Reeves also spoke about the film during a recent event for the Television Critics Association. Here’s what he said:

“There are ways in which all of this connects to DC, to the DC universe as well,” Reeves said. “We’re one piece of many pieces so I don’t want to comment on that except to say that I’m focused very specifically on this aspect of the DC world.”

However, Reeves did not eradicate Affleck’s involvement in his film though he didn’t confirm it either, leaving us all perplexed.

“From the beginning, what I had always spoken about with Warner Brothers and what I was excited about was being in the Bat-universe and really doing something within that sphere,”

Reeves said.

“That was always what it was going to be so in that way it hasn’t changed a lot since I first met with them. It’s very much the same thrust if that makes sense.”

“A lot of things have happened since then but the movie, and why I’m excited about it, is it continues to be the same inspirations and excitement of what we talked about in the beginning.”
