Bonney May Not be the Only One Piece Character Capable of Replicating Luffy’s Gear 5

Over the course of the more than 1,000 chapters in One Piece, Luffy has encountered many adversaries with a range of fighting techniques and skill sets. While he easily defeated several, others presented a greater threat. His fight against Charlotte Katakuri, one of Big Mom’s many children, is one that is still spoken about by fans today.
Katakuri was one of Luffy’s more formidable opponents and could match him practically blow for blow, because of his Mochi Mochi no Mi abilities, which let him mimic Luffy’s techniques like the Elephant Gun. However, it is important to note that Katakuri has significantly different powers from Luffy or even Bonney.
Charlotte Katakuri Might Be Able To Copy Luffy’s Gear 5
A Reddit post by user Calamity10260 suggested a theory that since we’ve seen that Katakuri could copy a lot of Luffy’s techniques; they wondered if he could copy the gears or at least create his own type of gears. Charlotte Katakuri has an interesting ability. His Devil Fruit, Mochi Mochi no Mi, allowed him to replicate Luffy’s Gear 3 powers to some extent.
However, Katakuri’s powers have their limits. Like he did with Gear 2 or Gear 3, Katakuri can certainly employ strategies that are comparable to Gear 4 even though he might not be able to replicate them. He could even be able to create his own Gear 4 model with Mochi and Haki. But he can never completely imitate Luffy’s Gear 5 form.
Unlike Jewelry Bonney’s powers, which can be used to visualize and distort the future, Katakuri cannot distort his body using the Mochi Mochi no Mi fruit. In order to do so, he needs to have organs made of stretchable material like Luffy’s rubber. Thus, it is highly unlikely for Katakuri to mimic Luffy’s iconic Gear 5.
Why Could Jewelry Bonney Use Luffy’s Gear 5 Powers?
Every child aspires to be just like their heroes. Additionally, Bonney wants to be like Nika. Bonney was born with a limited destiny, but thanks to Kuma’s enormous sacrifice, she was able to change her circumstances and build an endless future for herself. Bonney could therefore access any future she choose, whether it be as Nika, a Giant, or a Buccaneer.
One should be aware of Jewelry Bonney’s Toshi Toshi no Mi (Age-Age) devil fruit’s abilities before we discover more about her Nika transformation. Bonney’s devil fruit talents allow her to effortlessly alter not just her own age but also the ages of other people and objects at command. Nevertheless, Bonney’s devil fruit abilities only have fleeting consequences. For instance, at the beginning of the Egghead narrative, she changed Luffy and Chopper into elder versions of themselves.
Bonney can envision a complete Nika now that she has witnessed the real Nika, which is Luffy in his Gear 5 state. Luffy urged Bonney to make the most of her abilities in order to become the most independent version of herself during the One Piece battle against the Five Elders. Bonney requested a future in which she was totally free after giving it a try. This resulted in Bonney unlocking Gear 5 and achieving the Nika form similar to Luffy.
