While talking about the making of the acclaimed movie Deadpool, the creator Rob Liefeld revealed that fans almost got a chance to witness A-lister Brad Pitt as one of the most iconic frenemies of Deadpool.

It would have been nothing less than a virtual treat to watch Brad Pitt entering the X-Men universe and portraying Cable in the Deadpool movie. This complex character would have indeed looked exceptional if the actor had secured it. However, the role eventually went to Josh Brolin.

Brad Pitt Almost Played Cable in Deadpool Before Josh Brolin Helmed The Role

Hollywood’s most renowned and lauded figure Brad Pitt never fails to captivate fans by portraying distinctive characters on-screen. One of the major roles that the Babylon actor would have played is Cable in the Marvel universe. Being a complex X-Men and time traveler, Pitt would have not only influenced the visual aesthetics of the Deadpool movie but also its underlying theme.

While talking with Comic Book, Rob Liefeld revealed that they almost cast Brad Pitt as Cable before the role was given to Josh Brolin. He said:

“I know for 100% fact that was true. They did previews, and David Leitch had a very special relationship doing stunt work with [Pitt]. What people don’t know is that was very early early on. So when they knew they weren’t going in that direction, they went down several others.”

Liefeld said that the rumors surrounding the Bullet Train star’s involvement in Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool were true. However, fate had something else in mind and due to scheduling conflicts Pitt did not play Cable, instead did a cameo in Deadpool 2 as Vanisher, keeping it a surprise for the audience which they indeed loved.

Will Brad Pitt Ever Play a Superhero In the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Well, this is something time will tell, and we’re not saying or hinting at any character that Brad Pitt is going to portray in the superhero world but according to fans, if he does, it would be an exciting cinematic experience for Marvel fans since the MCU has been facing immense backlash and criticism over the recent years.

Even though Pitt was supposed to appear as a superhero in the movie, fans loved the World War Z star’s brief cameo in Deadpool 2 as Telford Porter aka Vanisher, and wished it had more to witness him as the mutant who could become invisible. A post shared on X (earlier Twitter) by Hollywood Handle, is quite impressive how fans would have reacted if Brad Pitt played Cable.

However, Marvel never fails to utilize the fame and position of an actor in the world of entertainment, and if Brad Pitt enters the superhero world, he should be given an extraordinarily powerful and iconic role that will captivate the viewers.
