Robert Downey Jr. has been part of various successful movies, but he rose to fame after entering the MCU. The actor played the famous superhero Iron Man in Marvel and rose to fame thanks to his well-known robot role. Apart from his witty and funny personality, Tony Stark was adored for his relationship with Pepper Potts. Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark married Potts in the film, played by Gwyneth Paltrow.

The three Iron Man films revolve around the relationship between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, played by Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. respectively. Potts has always played a crucial role in Tony Stark’s character development and has produced an intriguing dynamic between the two.

However, the death of Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame marked the end of an era that ended Paltrow’s career in the franchise. The actress recently hosted a Q&A on her personal Instagram story. She was asked by a fan why she stopped appearing in recent Marvel Studios projects since 2019’s Endgame.

The Shallow Hal actress responded by letting the fans know that it was because Iron Man died and that the story doesn’t need Pepper Potts without the 58-year-old’s Iron Man. She said,

“Oh my god, stop yelling at me! We just stopped doing it because Iron Man died, and why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man? I don’t know, call up Marvel and yell at them, not me. I’m just sitting here.”

While Pepper Potts was a crucial component of Downey Jr. Stark’s life and character evolution and greatly influenced his decisions, she also had a lot to contribute in terms of other areas. Her return to the franchise might be possible if fan theories about Tony Star appearing in Avengers: Secret Wars come true.
