Cameron Diaz Returns to Filming With Jamie Foxx’s Body Double as Actor Struggles With Mystery Illness
The action does not stop for Back in Action. The action flick has been a part of the headlines ever since its inception. The movie was in the news originally because it marked Cameron Diaz’s return to Hollywood. Recently, it was in the limelight for an alleged Jamie Foxx meltdown on the set, which forced the Bad Teacher actor to re-think whether or not she should continue acting. But the latest event, which saw the film make headlines was the Django Unchained star’s illness, a mystery that has kept him away from the shooting.
Jamie Foxx is down and out with a mysterious ailment
Jamie Foxx was recently admitted to the hospital courtesy of an undisclosed ailment. The specifics of the medical problem have not been discussed at length. But it has been admitted that it can have implications for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star, who is currently in a critical state.
Foxx’s family flew in from out of town just to be with their kin. At the time, his condition was reported to be “serious enough”. But as of late, the Oscar winner seems to be making a steady recovery. His daughter, Corinne Foxx, wrote on social media,
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
It seems increasingly likely that Back in Action might witness the return of another actor (albeit a different return).
A Body Double was brought in to replace Jamie Foxx
Jamie Foxx’s absence had paralyzed the operations of Back in Action. The production house had little choice but to stop the movie in its tracks. But as time elapsed, they had to move on to alternatives. To ensure that the shooting remains on schedule, the bosses have chosen to proceed with using a body double of the Robin Hood star.
The cast of the movie marked its return to shooting after a week-long hiatus, with the body double filling in for Foxx. Cameron Diaz and McKenna Roberts were pictured alongside the body double, heading into a nightclub for the shooting.
The deadline comes calling
The trio went into the nightclub with jovial faces only to come out later with nervous looks. It might have something to do with the absence of Jamie Foxx. The filming for the film began in March this year and was expected to wrap up in April.
But following Foxx’s mystery illness, wrapping up the shoot of the Netflix film looks like an unlikely prospect. The Shade star’s backlash further dented the progress, flaring up a potential rift between himself and the Charlie’s Angels star. No release date has been fixed for the film.
