Although Captain America 4 looks to resolve an old issue from a Phase 4 movie, it has also sparked interest in another mystery. After one major ignored plotline finally gets addressed, fans now want another older event to get its due attention.

From Tiamut to Avengers Tower, MCU’s Unresolved Plotlines

It is now clear that no detail is too small for fans to notice. Last time, Eternals introduced viewers to immortal beings and protectors of Earth and also introduced celestials who grow in the hearts of planets. It was shown at the end of the movie that celestial Tiamut was about to emerge from the Earth and would destroy the planet in the process.

Thanks to Eternals, they were successful in stopping the emergence by killing Tiamut, but his massive stone hand and part of his head emerged out of the Indian Ocean by the end of the movie. This major plot has been ignored by the later MCU movies and shows for more than 2 years now.

Although She-Hulk: Attorney at Law addressed it for a very brief moment, it was not until the trailer for Captain America: Brave New World was released that it properly addressed Tiamut’s remains. Sam Wilson is seen flying by his massive hand in the trailer, and fans finally get their demand.

But now, it seems like fans are onto another small but important plot event that has been ignored since Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was released in 2017. Marvel has released a plethora of projects, among which 2 were Avengers movies, but still, there has been no mention of who owns Avengers Tower, especially after the death of Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame.

In Homecoming, it is shown that Stark sold Avengers Tower after the events of the Civil War. Happy Hogan reveals this to Peter Parker when he tells him that they were transporting all the Avengers’ equipment to another place, which Arian Toomes, aka The Vulture, wanted to grab in the middle.

Fans online have not forgotten this, as Avengers Tower holds significant importance in the MCU’s past, as well as the future.

The lack of information has given birth to some speculations. Some think it could be related to future storylines, while others feel it is just an oversight.

Either way, fans will hope that as the MCU finally addresses the Tiamut situation, it will also give some answers about Avengers Tower.

Who Might Be the New Owner of Avengers Tower?

A popular belief is that it might have been acquired by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. She has been shown recruiting for the Thunderbolts, and there is no better place to do that than the former Avengers base. It would certainly add some legitimacy to her team.

Another candidate is Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin. If he actually aims to be the mayor of New York, acquiring the Avengers’ former headquarters would be quite a power move. Being a billionaire, buying the lavish tower wouldn’t be an issue for him. Plus, there are rumors of a street-level hero showdown in the next Spider-Man movie, and Fisk owning the tower would be apt for that.

There is also speculation that the tower could become the Baxter Building of The Fantastic Four. As the first family of Marvel is soon joining the MCU, they will need a fancy New York address. However, this theory raises questions about why they were not seen in recent events if they had been around.

There is another theory about Kang the Conqueror or one of his variants being involved here. A moving truck with the “Qeng Enterprises” logo was spotted in Spider-Man: Homecoming. In the comics, the company belongs to a Kang variant named Nathaniel Richards, aka Mister Gryphon. This might be a way of setting up future storylines.

Lastly, the least popular but more believable speculation says that the tower might be repurposed by Pepper Potts for future projects. However, whether it sets up future stories or just a detail that got lost, the MCU has certainly kept its fans guessing.

Captain America: Brave New World will be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is available to stream on Netflix, SonyLiv, and Prime Video.
