Captain America Shield From Endgame Is Up For Auction
The shield prop used by Captain America (Chris Evans) in Avengers: Endgame is up for auction. The 2019 blockbuster from Joe and Anthony Russo signalled the end of Marvel’s Infinity Saga, but it also concluded individual arcs for several of the MCU’s foundational heroes. While both Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) sacrificed their lives for the greater good, Steve Rogers had his happily-ever-after by the end of the movie.
The History Of Shield
Being his signature weapon, Captain America has been using his shield since the 1940s when he first became a full-fledged superhero. The shield, made of Vibranium, was given to him by Iron Man’s father, Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), during World War II. The shield was with Cap when he was discovered after being encased in ice, allowing him to use it in his modern exploits. However, after a falling out with Tony Stark, he was forced to give it up during Captain America: Civil War. It took him seven years to reclaim his shield shortly before Avengers: Endgame’s “Time Heist,” but Thanos (Josh Brolin) eventually broke it. Captain America, on the other hand, presented a new version of the shield at the end of the movie, which he gave to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie).
The shield prop is up for auction at Hake’s Auctions
Hake’s Auctions is now selling a shield prop used in close-up shots of Evans’ Captain America in Avengers: Endgame. The prop has been authenticated with official paperwork to back up its authenticity, as demonstrated in the promotional video for the item. The auctions for Cap’s iconic weapon will take place on November 2 and 3 for anyone interested in bidding.
There’s no word yet on how much this official Avengers: Endgame prop item will go for in cash. There are currently six bids on the item, bringing the total amount to an amazing $45,000. Given a large number of die-hard Marvel fans, it’s safe to assume that Captain America’s shield will be one of the most sought-after items during the event.
