‘Captain Marvel’ Concept Art Reveals A ‘Major Character’ To Be A Skrull
Newly revealed concept art from the upcoming Captain Marvel has revealed that one of MCU’s biggest heroes could actually be a shapeshifting Skrull. Yes, we are talking about Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson.
Is Nick Fury a Skrull?
The picture and theory were posted on Reddit and is reportedly a sneak peek at a page from Captain Marvel: Art of the movie book. It clearly shows a Skrull morphing into Fury with his signature black long coat and eye patch. However, as many Reddit users have suggested, this could have many holes in it.

Since Captain Marvel is set back in the 1990s, a Skrull shapeshifting into Nick Fury could be a pre-Avengers version of the hero. Many have indicated that a Skrull may have morphed into Nick Fury after the events of Captain Marvel. This suggests that the Nick Fury we’ve seen leading the Avengers may have been a Skrull all this while.
Captain Marvel Release Date is set for March 8

If this is the case, it’ll be interesting to find out why he still assembled The Avengers. Theorists have even revealed that Fury may have wanted to guard Earth for a later- Skrull invasion. However, this sounds too far fetched. We won’t know the answer until Captain Marvel hits the theaters. It’s always good to remember that it isn’t necessary for concept art to always reveal the truth and this could be one of those ideas which were thought of for the film in its early stages.
Captain Marvel is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Yon-Rogg, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos and Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau. The film release date is set for March 8.
