Christopher Nolan is regarded as one of the most influential filmmakers in the industry whose complex storyline has managed to garner the attention of the audience. Infused with a metaphysical outlook, Nolan’s movies are said to feature mathematically inspired images and concepts, special effects, and unconventional narrative structures that only excite the viewers.

Nolan’s Oppenheimer became one of the highly successful and most talked about movies of 2023. Its clash with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie turned into the Barbenheimer phenomenon, which encouraged moviegoers to watch movies as a double feature. Emily Blunt, who starred in the movie, talks about Christopher Nolan’s ick with one fashion statement.

Emily Blunt reveals Christopher Nolan has a serious problem with UGGs

Actress Emily Blunt played the role of Kitty Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, opposite Cillian Murphy, who played the character of J. Robert Oppenheimer; creator of the atomic bomb. She appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and revealed the one ick Christopher Nolan feels towards UGGs. She said,

“He has such an issue with Ugg boots. It’s a serious problem. And I walked in wearing them one day, and it was like, ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. He literally was like…just stared at them. I was like, ‘Chris, come on.’ He goes, ‘Take those off.’”

Blunt, however, admitted that when Christopher Nolan channeled his Meryl Streep’s iconic character, Miranda Priestly moment on set, she did her own thing. She added,

“He hates them, so I gifted him some.”

In an interview with The Washington Post, Blunt said,

“It was like a scene from The Devil Wears Prada, Chris just looks down at your shoes and it’s like Meryl Streep is looking at your horrible fashion choice. I just thought, ‘I’ll never be seen dead in UGG boots around him again.”

She found the ugliest UGG slippers she could and gifted them to Nolan.
