Clark Backo Joins Tom Hardy’s Venom 3 in Mysterious Role
After the animated Spider-Verse movies, possibly the only Sony and Marvel collaborative project that has been loved by fans is the Venom franchise. Headlined by Tom Hardy, the movies feature the symbiotic alien Venom that finds its host in Eddie Brock, a struggling journalist trying to make it big in the concrete jungle of New York. This results in Brock getting lethal abilities to kill enemies effortlessly. The third movie in the franchise is in full swing with regular announcements about its cast of actors.
Venom 3 Plot and Cast
Along with Tom Hardy, the Venom movies feature Michelle Williams as his love interest. The sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage starred Woody Harrelson as Carnage. The much-awaited third chapter of the franchise will be released this year with Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor also joining the cast. However, their roles have not been disclosed, so we will just have to wait till the trailer releases to see how the two actors join the world of Venom.
Another actor joining Venom 3 is Clark Backo, as reported by Variety. Spokespeople from Sony and Marvel have not commented on the same. Previously known for The Changeling and Letterkenny, the actress will next be seen in the Venom franchise in a role that is being kept under wraps currently. The antihero movie has a lot of potential since Venom’s world conjoins with that of Spider-Man. Venom’s first appearance was in Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man movie.
Directed by Kelly Marcel, Venom 3 is expected to hit the theatres on November 8, 2024. According to industry insider DanielRPK, Ejiofor will reportedly be playing Orwell Taylor, the antagonist of the movie. Taylor is the head of The Jury, a group that wants to destroy Venom with the help of Tony Stark’s technology. After Stark’s death, the entire MCU seems to take on the challenge of protecting his advanced technology so if this continues in Venom 3, it could bridge Sony and Marvel’s cinematic universes.
Who is Clark Backo?
The Canadian actress is known for her recurring role in Letterkenny since 2016. Backo took on a lead role in AppleTV+’s The Changeling in 2023. For The Changeling, she has been praised for her great breakout performance. Recently, Linden Entertainment signed on as her management agency. Moreover, her filmography also includes Netflix’s 21 Thunder, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, and CBC’s Shoot The Messenger.
Backo was also seen in I Want You Back and Seven in Heaven. With Venom 3, Backo will enter the realm of big-budget Superhero movies. The story is said to pick up after Brock and Venom’s post-credit scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It will be exciting to see what role Backo takes up in Venom 3, and possibly in more upcoming movies.
