In a recent interview with USA Today, Xolo Maridueña has shared some exciting thoughts about his upcoming Blue Beetle movie and the latest season of Cobra Kai. From starting with a television series to making his film debut in a superhero movie, the actor has talked about the importance of inclusion and representation.
“Honestly, it feels like I’ve skipped a few steppingstones. Cobra Kai has been such a wonderful opportunity, (and) it feels a little bit intimidating being this is my first movie and it’s in a realm that’s totally different than anything I’ve ever worked on. I’m nervous, but I’m excited. It’s gonna be important, not only for Latinos and to see people of colour, brown people, represented onscreen, but also show a story that we haven’t really seen before.”
In the interview, Xolo Maridueña has also revealed that he has already tested the Blue Beetle suit and he hopes to get more buff to look the part. His character’s decision to travel to Mexico in Cobra Kai had led to speculation of the actor leaving the series for Blue Beetle. But fortunately, the filming for the fifth season has been completed and the actor is definitely a part of it.
Cobra Kai is now streaming on Netflix.
