Matt Rife dated Kate Beckinsale in 2017

Despite the years-long age gap between the two, Matt Rife and Kate Beckinsale dated for some time in 2017. Rife was new in the industry back then but Beckinsale was already an established actress. The 21-year-old comedian was smitten with the Serendipity actress and loved spending every minute with her.

However, when the couple split, nobody knew what went wrong until 2019. Rife warned Pete Davidson publicly and told him to run away since he was the one dating Beckinsale then. Rife later apologized to both Davidson and Beckinsale for acting like a jerk and making those remarks. It seems like something serious went down between Rife and Beckinsale that led to them going their separate ways. The comedian has claimed that things were complicated between the two.

Matt Rife and Lucy Hale were together for a while

After his breakup with Beckinsale, Rife remained single for a long time, or even if he dated, the public never got to know about the same. His fling with actress Lucy Hale came to light in 2023 when the two were involved for a brief period of time. During their time together, they were seldom spotted together and Hale has never commented on their relationship.

Rife, back in 2023, made comments on various media outlets about his desire to find a wife and settle down. At the same time, he told them how hard it is for him to date especially when he’s on tour most of the time. He said to GQ,

I do meet women who are fantastic human beings that I’m like, ‘Wow, you’re such a lovely person. You’re beautiful. You’re sweet, you’re kind, you’d be an excellent mother and excellent wife, excellent girlfriend, you check all these boxes, but I might not be in a position right now to fulfill your needs as a responsible boyfriend.’

This might have been the case with Rife’s relationships to date as he was unable to give them the necessary time and space needed for the relationship to blossom.

Last year itself, Rife started dating another actress, Jessica Lord. The couple seemed to be pretty serious in love as they indulged in PDA at media events and were often spotted hand in hand. Rife even gushed about Lord on various occasions where he said,

It’s an early relationship, about four or five months, but we’ve known each other for about a year and a half. She’s very smart. I love that. She’s never been insecure about the amount of attention that I get. She sees it the way I see it … a girl will yell out in the middle of a show like ‘F–k me!’ or something wild … and a lot of girls would be like, ‘You have girls yelling out to you in the middle of the show?’

I get off stage, she goes, ‘What the f–k’s that girl’s problem? That’s so annoying, you’re in the middle of trying out this new bit that I know you’ve been working so hard for, [and] now she ruined the entire f—king thing.’

Seems like Rife had finally found the woman of his dreams until it all came crashing down. In March 2024, the couple broke up and went their separate ways for good. Rife and Lord split on amicable terms since they felt that the relationship had run its course.

Ever since the break ups news came to light, Rife has not been spotted with anyone else. He seems to be single and enjoying life on his own for now. The comedian has not spoken up about dating or seeing anyone else either. In the past, he has notably stated how he hates dating and finds the process tedious.

He told Esquire,

I kind of hate dating. I know I am just in my mid-to-late 20s, but still, I do want a wife and a family and a prominent home life that makes me feel comfortable, safe, and is my peace. But when I’m touring six days a week, 52 weeks out of the year, it’s incredibly hard to maintain a relationship.
