Other characters like Joseph ‘Jojo’ Mondel Jr., the son of Mojo Jojo, the Powerpuff Girls’ arch-nemesis from the original cartoon, were also cast. Nicholas Podany was to play that role. In 2021, it came to light that the plot of the series was not ordered and needed some retooling. But recent reports suggest that the show starring Bennet is no longer in development.

Chloe Bennet was roped in by CW to play the lead role in the live-action take of Powerpuff Girls. As per TV Line, the show is no longer being developed at The CW. Any project left over from former CW president Mark Pedowitz’s regime has been canceled by the channel.

The cancelation of the show comes after the 2021 incident that received serious backlash from fans. During the time, the original pilot script of Powerpuff was allegedly leaked online. It received harsh criticism from the original Powerpuff Girls cartoon fans.

There were many changes made for the live-action series, and fans were not pleased with the direction the show was headed. For instant, Professor Utonium, who was formerly presented as a devoted father, was revised to reflect his abusive, cunning, and egotistical tendencies.

Also, the show taking place in the aftermath of Blossom killing Mojo was not liked by fans. Considering all the reasons, The CW dropped the project.
