Critics Keep Humiliating Every One of His Movies But People’s Choice Awards Just Gave Adam Sandler Their Highest Honor

Adam Sandler Wins People’s Icon Award
At the recent People’s Choice Awards, comedy juggernaut Adam Sandler was presented with the People’s Icon Award. His long-time friend and co-star, Jennifer Aniston, did the honors of announcing and handing him the award. The audience witnessed some of the top moments from Sandler’s past movies, showcasing his incredible skills in comedy and drama genres alike.
From Murder Mystery to Grown-Ups, Sandler is the king of comedy that continues to entertain the masses, no matter what the critics say. The actor has expressed in the past that he does not care what anyone says since he makes movies with some of his closest friends and they have the best time on set. As long as they are having fun and his fans enjoy the movies, Sandler does not care what critics say. In an interview with Variety, he said,
“I always remember something my father said. He was a tough bastard. He went through ups and downs in his life, like not having worked for a year or two and not telling us. I recall one time that something didn’t go right for me. I bombed onstage or didn’t get an audition. I was upset and probably embarrassed. And he said, ‘Adam, you can’t always be happy. People aren’t always going to like you. You’re going to fail.’ I said, ‘But I just want to be happy, man. I don’t want all that other crap.’ He said, ‘You won’t actually know you’re happy if you don’t feel that other stuff.’”
For his recent movie You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, Sandler was also nominated for the Comedy Movie Star of the Year award. Undoubtedly, this was not Sandler’s first win at the People’s Choice Award. He has previously won Best On-Screen Match with Drew Barrymore, Favorite Funny Male Star, and Favorite Comedy Star as well.

Adam Sandler’s Acceptance Speech
Sandler acted as if he was prepared to win the award for Sexiest Man Alive, and used the same speech to accept the People’s Icon Award. His charm and hilarious quips know no bounds as the audience laughed with him. Younger actors should see Sandler as their role model and learn how to keep a gathering hooked at every word. He began his speech with,
“Hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Adam Sandler, and I am the sexiest man alive. Can I get a hell yeah? To the People magazine’s academy members of hotness and sexual attractiveness, I would like to say thank you for recognizing me as the man who made our entire country the horniest this year and was by far the most talked about person in the bedroom by couples or throuples during fantasy roleplaying slappy-time. Can I get another hell yeah?”
His speech did not end without a shout-out to the ugly people of the world, he added, “I want to say, Adam Sandler doesn’t take this award without giving back to the community. So, here’s some advice to the ugly folk out there who would also like to unlock their full beefcake potential. Embrace your chubbiness, lean into your goofiness, and just start hanging out with David Spade and Rob Schneider, so you can look handsomer and three feet taller than you actually are!”
The institution awarded Sandler for his quality contribution to the industry throughout the years of his career. He is a through and through entertainer who keeps things light. His characters are unforgettable and always leave people with a smile on their faces. Sandler’s upcoming movie Spaceman is set to release on Netflix on March 1, 2024.
