‘Dad of the Decade’ Tristan Thompson Loses Paternity Settlement Case With Maralee Nichols, Ordered To Pay $9,500 Every Month, Cover Nichols’ Lawyer Fees
Professional basketball player Tristan Thompson has been involved in a paternity lawsuit. The athlete reportedly has been ordered to pay $9,500 a month in child support after having a baby with Maralee Nichols. The birth of the child he shares with Maralee Nichols caused a rift as the athlete was dating socialite Khloe Kardashian at the time and the infidelity ended their relationship. Maralee Nichols has been awarded full custody of the child, who is just one year old.
Shortly after his relationship ended with Khloe Kardashian, the socialite welcomed their second child, who was conceived before his cheating scandal came into the limelight.
Tristan Thompson will have to pay child support
Maralee Nichols filed a paternity lawsuit against Tristan Thompson in June 2021 claiming that she is pregnant with his child and accused him of cheating on Khloe Kardashian. Nichols claimed in the lawsuit that she had conceived a child with the NBA player in March 2021. She also claimed that he offered to pay her $75,000 to stop her from talking about the child as he was dating Khloe Kardashian.
The lawsuit has been settled and Thompson reportedly has been ordered to pay $9,500 a month in child support and Maralee Nichols will have full custody of the child. They are yet to decide on the visitation plan.
The NBA star cheated on Khloe Kardashian
Tristan Thompson was named in a paternity suit in June 2021 when he was dating Khloe Kardashian. In the paternity suit, Maralee Nichols claimed that she had conceived a child with the NBA player earlier that year. In December 2021, the athlete admitted that he had cheated on the socialite and the two ended their relationship. Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian’s relationship began in 2016 and they welcomed their first child, True Thompson, in April 2018. Their second child was conceived just a few days before the paternity suit was filed. They welcomed their second child in July 2022.

A lot of people criticized the socialite for fathering a child with a person who cheated on her but the child was conceived before his cheating scandal came out in the limelight. Throughout their relationship, the athlete was caught cheating on her on multiple occasions but the two always seemed to reconcile. However, the paternity suit was the last straw as the socialite ended their relationship for good.
The two share a daughter named True and have been co-parenting their two kids since their split. Thompson recently attended a Halloween party at Khloe Kardashian’s house.
