The iconic vigilante has no dearth of stories that can be adapted from comic books. Daredevil is known to have intertwined plotlines with various characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe with sparse appearances with the mighty Avengers too.

A few snippets of the show hint at a face-off between Daredevil and Punisher, making for a smashing plot point for the show. Fans are anyway delighted by massive fight sequences that Marvel is currently acing across the board.

Another important aspect that is believed to be covered in Daredevil: Born Again is the vigilante’s entanglement with law enforcement as well as his need to get justice for the right things.

The original Daredevil series premiered on Netflix for 3 great seasons since 2015. The show garnered high viewership and ratings, making it one of the most loved shows on the platform. However, in November 2018, a blow by Netflix cut short Daredevil’s stint and the show was canceled. Sharing his feelings on the same, Matt Murdock the man behind Daredevil’s mask told Entertainment Weekly,

A lot of us really expected to keep going and I certainly did. The truth is, I felt like we had a lot of stories to tell, and although I understand [the cancellation] I’m very saddened by that. It’s just how business works. But also, these characters mean a lot to people. It’s weird to think there’s a chance I won’t be playing Matt Murdock ever again. That’s a bizarre feeling because that character has been such a huge part of my life for the last four and a half years.

The cancellation of the show was a surprise to all cast members just as it was to the fans. Everyone expressed their joy for being a part of the show, Daredevil deserved to go on. The showrunner Erik Olson apparently had a fourth season outline ready which was already pitched to the platform. One possible reason could be Disney’s upcoming streaming service, making Netflix give up the show.

Another possible reason for Daredevil’s cancellation was decreasing viewership. Netflix does not disclose its numbers and figures, but some people speculated that the show was decreasing in popularity, especially in the third season. Thus, Netflix was not very eager to renew the show for another season. Moreover, the heavy expense that burned a hole in Netflix’s pocket in making Daredevil, which was close to $200 million, did not help the cause.
