Near the end of Anime Expo 2024, Crunchyroll announced that an anime adaptation of the famous webtoon, Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, is in production. Although a release date has not been disclosed yet, AnimeTV revealed that the webtoon will be adapted into an anime by Aniplex, the company behind Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Now this has re-ignited hope in the minds of the fans of another popular manhwa, The Beginning After The End. And we see no reason why this fantastic manhwa should not get an anime adaptation.
The Beginning After The End, popularly known as TBATE, has gained the attention of a large section of the anime fanbase worldwide. Its popularity can be attributed to the incredible plot and the well-developed characters who are pivotal to the series.
One Step Closer: The Beginning After The End Might Get An Anime Adaptation After All
Despite being such a popular webcomic, The Beginning After The End has not been able to secure an anime adaptation. Yet. There is currently no word on whether The Beginning After the End will be adapted into an anime as of July 2024.
The webcomic, however, turns out to be a successful series. It makes sense that TBATE fans would want to see an anime adaptation given the show’s immense popularity. Given that animation studios are still producing anime adaptations of non-manga source materials, this doesn’t seem all that unlikely.
With the Solo Leveling anime adaptation still riding high on success, and the recent announcement for Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, it feels like we are one step closer to getting a TBATE anime adaptation. The Beginning After The End has grown to be one of the most beloved manhwas of all time. The fans of the series have been talking quite highly of the novel and it has been widely discussed on popular social media platforms like X and Reddit. Usually, it takes quite some time for a webcomic to attain popularity, but The Beginning After The End managed to gain a massive number of readers within a short amount of time.
Why Should The Beginning After The End Receive An Anime Adaptation?
When it first started, the Isekai genre was huge, giving rise to a number of series with distinctive storylines and oddball characters.
Unfortunately, the anime industry has become oversaturated with isekai tropes with repetitive themes and similar plotlines in recent times. However, The Beginning After The End manages to breathe life into the genre and revive it in a refreshing manner.
In The Beginning After The End, Arthur Leywin is portrayed as a person attempting to lead a more fulfilled life than the one he had before. But Arthur runs across hardships and fleeting obstacles that keep him from reaching his goal. The webcomic currently includes more than a hundred chapters, indicating how intricate the plot is.
The main reason why many people would probably sell their kidney to see an anime adaptation of The Beginning After The End is its plot, which shoulders most of the weight. The plot is intriguing and the story settles over you like a warm blanket. Moreover, the characters are well fleshed out and the female characters add to the story rather than serving as eye candy. The story has a detailed power system without being too confusing while also maintaining great pacing.
All in all, The Beginning After The End is a solid example of an isekai trope done right. An anime adaptation of the webcomic seems like a very strong possibility in the coming years. The rising trend of anime adaptations of popular manhwas and this series’ own popularity cuts a remarkably straightforward deal.
