The trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teased a lot of potential villains, which also has one villain who could be a greater adversary than the Mad Titan, Thanos. The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer gave us a glimpse of many different villains that Doctor Strange will be taking on in the much-awaited sequel.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will have a LOT of characters

From Evil Doctor Strange to Gargantos to the evil Strange Supreme of Doctor Strange from Marvel’s What If…?, series and the enormous danger that’s threatening the entire multiverse, is seen escalating in the teaser trailer.

Nevertheless, none of these dangerous threats match the potential danger of Alioth being the prime villain of the movie.

Who is Alioth?

Alioth appeared in the Loki Disney+ series on Disney+. The founder of the TVA, He Who Remains managed to harness the enormous power of Alioth in order for a war between various timelines and universes of the multiverse. Alioth can consume all energy and matter, which easily allows it to cause destruction to anything that comes in its path.

He Who Remains, with a plan, used the beast as a guard for the Citadel beyond the realm of the Void, located beyond the time, and was also utilized by the TVA to end anything and anyone that they managed to prune from the branched timelines. The climax of the Loki series gave us a petrifying situation when He Who Remains dies. Now, Alioth is a free-roaming strong force of destruction that is life-threatening to all the realities without someone to control the power of the creature.

The multiverse is WIDE OPEN after No Way Home

In No Way Home, Doctor Strange ends up tampering with the multiverse and there will be another multiverse meddling instance in this Doctor Strange sequel. In the same way that the old Spidey villains ended up crossing over in a different universe altogether, Alioth may also make an escape from the Void. In the trailer that’s released, what appeared was a huge dark cloud that is seen coming towards Kamar-Taj alongside the fortress of Doctor Strange.

This massive cloud already struck enough terror seemed a lot like Alioth. Obviously, it could be a cloud generated by some other dark force, however, it seems like the force itself, but if Alioth escaped the Void and wreaks immense destruction on the entire multiverse would be a perfect setting for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Marvel legend Stan Lee once said, “The first thing you have to do is get a villain who seems to be unbeatable by the hero.” (via YouTube). A free Alioth would be the greatest threat for the ex Sorcerer Supreme in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Strange had earlier faced a similar menace when he successfully outwitted Dormammu in 2016’s Doctor Strange.
