There are a lot of unanswered comic book questions over which comic book twitter wages a mini internet war every single day. One of this is the question of who would win in a fight- Superman or Shazam. While the two heavyweights have clashed before, but their fights always seem to get interrupted. Or there’s some other extenuating circumstance wich explains why one hero got the upper hand over the other. Fans find it hard to say who has the edge but in a fair fight, Superman cannot beat Shazam. No don’t come for us, we are not the ones saying it, but Batman/Superman #2 is. Superman Loses To Shazam? Superman and Batman are on the hunt for these agents of the Dark Multiverse. But their first opponent itself proves to be a pain to handle. Shazam has been transformed into the Earth’s Mightiest Nightmare and Superman can’t match up. As the fight rages on, superman almost gets infected by Shazam but is saved by Batman at the last minute. But fight doesn’t rage for long and the ultimate result is that the heroes get defeated. Did Superman Really Lose To Shazam? Superman losing to Shazam? We have to raise a questioning eyebrow to that. Pic courtesy: butwhythopodcast.com Batman is pissed at Superman for letting the enemy get away but Superman has a humane heart. He says: “Underneath that darkness, I knew he was still Billy Batson. So I held back. I had to. He’s just a kid.” This is the moment, a man who can move planets with his bare hands admits that children are his greatest weakness. This shows why Superman can never defeat Shazam. Underneath it all, Superman is a father and he cannot fight a child. He will always hold back to some extent when he fights Shazam. So while superman clearly has the power to go toe-to-toe with Shazam, but he never will. But we have to wonder, what would be a match between them be like in the DCEU? With Henry Cavill out of the scene, we can only hope that Zachary Levi sticks around. That is if he even wants to keep on playing Shazam.
