According to reports, Ratajkowski apparently had a bitter experience on the sets of Blurred Lines, and the model shared the incident in her 2021 book My Body.
Emily Ratajkowski Reveals Her Traumatic Encounter with Robin Thicke
Emily Ratajkowski accused Robin Thicke of sexually assaulting her during the filming of the 2013 song Blurred Lines. She agreed to appear topless in the video’s uncensored version, which caused quite a stir on social media and in the music industry. The former wife of Sebastian Bear-McClard claims the Lost Without You singer groped her bare breasts from behind while shooting a scene of the song’s video. It featured her and two other models, as well as Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams, and Clifford Joseph Harris, a rapper.
The model writes,
“Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and foreignness of a stranger’s hands cupping my bare breasts from behind. I instinctively moved away, looking back at RobinThicke. He smiled a goofy grin and stumbled backward, his eyes concealed behind his sunglasses. My head turned to the darkness beyond the set.”
She continued,
“I pushed my chin forward and shrugged, avoiding eye contact, feeling the heat of humiliation pump through my body. I didn’t react – not really, not like I should have.”
During an interview, another model, Elle Evans, who appeared in the music video, revealed what happened on the set. Evans said,
“All the stuff with Emily and Robin there together, that was a closed set. So they had no one else watching. What I remember is that, toward the end of the shoot, Emily did leave very abruptly.”
She continued,
“There was kind of a bit of a scramble among the production team, like, what are we gonna do? How do we shoot the rest of the video without her? I was told that she had a flight to catch. I remember Diane shouting, like, That’s too sexy. Don’t be too sexy. This is not the club, you know. This is not a lap dance.”
Diane Martel, the director of the Blurred Lines music video, also confirmed Emily Ratajkowski’s incident. She claimed she was the one who abruptly halted the shooting, after witnessing the whole scene.
Emily Ratajkowski Shares She Was Unhappy With Sebastian Bear-McClard
Sebastian Bear-McClard is neck-deep in controversies. The producer and his ex-wife, Emily Ratajkowski, are currently embroiled in a contentious divorce and custody battle. In addition, he is facing shocking allegations of sexual misconduct by multiple women. They claim he was a predator who groomed and preyed on young females before and during his marriage to Victoria’s Secret model. Bear McClard was married to Ratajkowski for four years before she filed for divorce from the film producer amid cheating allegations.
Recently Emily Ratajkowski appeared on the Going Mental podcast and shared how difficult it was for her to end her marriage with Bear McClard. She said,
“I didn’t have the courage to leave for a long time. I was really, really unhappy. I was, like, 100 pounds and I had just had a baby. I got really skinny ’cause I was not OK.”
She continued,
“I tried to take antidepressants. I was sure there was something wrong with me. I think so much of what I learned coming out of that relationship is to trust your instincts.”
She added,
“Every piece of media we consume from the second we are born is basically this idea of finding a partner that completes and validates you. Plus, I had just had a child so I really wanted to have that family, so it was especially hard for me to totally walk away.”
According to reports, Emily Ratajkowski filed for divorce from her former husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, amid rumors that he was unfaithful during their 4 years of marriage. The couple tied the knot in February 2018.
