“Drake found crying in the corner”: Billie Eilish Parties to Kendrick Lamar’s Diss Track ‘Not Like Us’ After Previously Defending Drake For Texting Her at Age 17
Billie Eilish’s new and third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, was recently released, which details the devastating aftermath of a breakup she went through. The 22-year-old also sings about exploring her sexuality with incredible storytelling, for which she collaborated with her brother Finneas. Eilish wrote on her social media that she and her brother had put so much into the album.
Apart from her new album’s release, Billie Eilish has been in the news after a clip went viral of her dancing. The video went viral after fans pointed out that the music in the background seemed like she had picked a side between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
Billie Eilish dances to Kendrick Lamar’s music, dissing Drake
The singer-songwriter, who is currently busy promoting her third and new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, was recently spotted dancing to the tunes of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us. The diss track for Drake is currently the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, and Lamar points out in the song that Drake likes younger and, in some cases, underage girls.
After the clip went viral, fans pointed out that Billie Eilish, back in 2019, when she was 17 years old, had defended her friendship with Drake. During an interview with Vanity Fair, Eilish revealed that Drake is the nicest dude she has ever spoken to. She said at the time,
I’ve only like texted him, but he’s so nice. Like, he does not need to be nice, you know what I mean? He’s at a level in his life where he doesn’t need to be nice, but he is, you know?
After the interview, fans dubbed Drake ‘creepy’ for texting Eilish, which the young singer shared with US Vogue.
A grown man can’t be a fan of an artist. There are so many people that the Internet should be more worried about. Like, you’re really going to say that Drake is creepy because he’s a fan of mine, and then you’re going to vote for Trump? What the f*** is that sh**?
The unhinged singer later took to her social media to comment on the situation, stating that she is lucky to have people in the business who extend their time to help her. She added that their advice, wisdom, and guidance helped her. The feud between Lamar and Drake started with Lamar dropping Like That, followed by Euphoria, 6:16 in LA, Meet the Grahamas, and finally Not Like Us.

Billie Eilish talks about Hit Me Hard and Soft
The 10-track set third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, follows her 2019’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, and 2021’s Happier Than Ever. Eilish’s two albums have performed exceptionally well. In speaking to Rolling Stone in April, she said,
This whole process has felt like I’m coming back to the girl I was. I’ve been grieving for her. I’ve been looking for her in everything, and it’s almost like she got drowned by the world and media. I don’t remember when she went away.
The 22-year-old music genius shared with the publication that a lot of her artwork is painful physically, but she loves it. Finneas added that working on this album meant revisiting a lot of things, noting that the album has some real ghosts in it. He explained that there is an idea they worked on while making the album and pointed out that when Eilish talks about When We Fall Asleep, it was the darkness they had on this album theatrically.
Eilish shared with Rolling Stone the title of the album, explaining that it came out of a conversation that took place between the brother-sister duo when she thought the name of a synth in Logic Pro was called Hit Me Hard and Soft. She says that the title felt like a really good way to describe her.
Hit Me Hard and Soft can be streamed on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
