Dwayne Johnson Says Superman Cannot Defeat Black Adam
Dwayne Johnson who is going to play the titular character in Black Adam says Superman cannot defeat his DC Extended Universe’s antihero.
The Rock who is going to play Black Adam in Black Adam made a statement echoing how his DC Extended Universe’s antihero could win a battle against Superman.

After Black Adam’s first footage premiered at DC FanDome, a fan noticed that if there is anyone who could stop Black Adam is Superman. But recently, Dwayne Johnson tweeted that “Remember, Superman’s greatest weakness isn’t kryptonite, it’s magic. Black Adam’s greatest superpower is magic. They both fly at light speed. They both are unstoppable forces. But only one will kill the other. And we know who that is.”

The Face-Off – Superman/Black Adam
Superman has a history of about 80+ years with magic. While the abilities have always varied over the years, in most incarnations, the character never actually went weak against it. The reason, however, could be that he is simply not that invulnerable to magic as he is with other things.
Keeping the semantics aside, Black Adam is going to be the first time that fans will experience a collision between Superman and Black Adam in the DCEU. Right after Black Adam was announced in 2017; Dwayne Johnson referred to the face-off as “one fine day” and pointed at it as “that’s coming.” Even Henry Cavill from Man of Steel added fuel to the notion right a year before walking it back.
The First Black Adam Footage
The Rock’s comment follows Black Adam’s first footage release that discovers a team of archaeologists exploring a cave. Once that lightning hits them, the team sees Black Adam standing there in a hooded cloak. Adam grabs one of the team members by the throat and prunes him. After this, other members start shooting Black Adam but he apparently catches each bullet and starts to levitate.
With that said, Black Adam’s producer, Hiram Garcia echoed that he is excited and thrilled to create the vision that Jaume Collet-Serra had for the film. He said that “There were a lot of aspects to this film that was important to us, from big dramatic storylines that we wanted to explore to make sure we were properly representing an antihero of Black Adam’s caliber to the visual effects and displaying Black Adam’s powers in a way that we think the fans will love.”
