Who Will Be Seen in Daredevil: Born Again?

Charlie Cox is returning as the titular hero, Daredevil and we couldn’t be happier about that. There is no one better to emulate the blind superhero on screen than Cox, who is also very excited to get back as Daredevil on the Disney+ show. The antagonist of the series will be Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, the same as the Netflix series.

In terms of supporting actors, Sandrine Holt, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, and Jon Bernthal will be a part of the show. It was earlier reported that Elden Hanson and Deborah Ann Woll will not be seen in the series, a news that upset fans highly. However, an insider of the entertainment industry Jeff Sneider revealed in his latest newsletter that the duo will at last be seen in the upcoming series reprising their earlier characters Foggy and Karen Page. This revelation has left fans ecstatic and overjoyed as they believe the characters and the series are indeed born again.

In the last season of the Netflix show, Foggy and Karen were killed off and were not expected to return. However, the show recently went through a revamp, and the structure of the show was changed after the actors’ and writers’ strike last year. This overhaul brought Dario Scardapane as the showrunner for Daredevil: Born Again. While the news of Foggy and Karen returning is certainly heartening since they added significant value to the show, we don’t know how big of a role the duo will be seen in.

Apart from fighting crime and taking on more cases, Matt Murdock will have more to deal with in this new series. He will be fighting Kingpin with more ferocity since his identity will be on the line. When Marvel reviewed the existing footage of the show, they wanted to switch gears and add a more creative layer to the story. Hence, the remaining episodes of the show will be helmed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead who also worked on Moonknight and Loki, two of the very successful Marvel series on Disney+. Kingpin actor D’Onofrio said in an interview with ComicBook.com,

“I mean, all I can say is that Charlie [Cox] and I are not bored. We are having a great time. We have a great cast, and I think everybody else is having a great time too. Charlie’s one of my favorite people, and I know that he comes here every day ready to knock it out of the park and you know how I am, I’m totally into this part, so I’m there for the same reason.”

With Foggy and Karen’s return in the series, assuming Sneider’s report is true, will make for an interesting leg of the story. Fans are already swarming social media platforms with their happiness and excitement for the post, many saying that the fans have finally won. Hailed as “the greatest announcement of all time,” we hope Marvel does not disappoint fans and truly includes the duo in a larger role.
