Emma Stone And Kirsten Dunst To Return In Spider-Man: No Way Home
With Spider-Man: No Way Home fans are convinced that Garfield and Maguire will return in the franchise. But what about Stone and Dunst – are they also going to come back?
There are high chances of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire re-appearing in the spider world with the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. But if that is the case, they will not come alone but will bring their love interests, Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson, back. There is no official confirmation present at the moment, but various links and theories echoed the involvement of the two Spider-Man actresses in the upcoming project.
For quite a long time now, it has been in rumors that the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home will use the concept and opportunities available with the Multiverse to unite all the franchise’s characters. Now since we all know that Doctor Strange will be there to play, it looks like their world will become two separate timelines in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That is how the film will incorporate events and characters from the past Spider-Man movies. Somehow, The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Electro and Spider-Man 2’s Doctor Octopus will be involved in the story, as seen in the trailer. Also, there is evidence that the film will also include characters from Raimi’s trilogy.
Rumors: Dunst and Stone Returning in No Way Home
All of these rumors begin after an article stated that Dunst, Garfield, and Maguire will return to reprise their roles in the Spider-Man franchise. The article also claimed Emma Stone’s return but with less clearance as she was around her “pregnancy permitting.” But none of these rumors have been confirmed by the makers of Spider-Man: No Way Home. In around May 2021, Emma Stone, in an interview, said that she is aware of the rumors of her playing Stacy in No Way Home, but denied having any involvement in the project.
Apart from that, there have been also rumors that Kristen Dunst will join the franchise as she was snapped shooting at a studio in LA. Apparently, other photos revealed that Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland were also present in the studio, presumably for the same project. But again, no confirmation has been released from the makers’ end. As of now, all of it remains just a ‘rumor.’
With that said, Spider-Man: No Way Home is going to hit the theatres on March 25, 2022.
