Eternals’ Origin Makes Room For The MCU Greek Gods
Marvel’s upcoming Eternals will bring significant changes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here is how Eternals’ origin will make a room for the Greek Gods, especially for Hercules.
Marvel’s upcoming Eternals will bring some major changes to the MCU as the Greek Gods and Hercules are finally going to show up. In the comic world, Hercules is perhaps an essential member of the Avengers and an ally of Thor. Additionally, he is the only one who is yet missing from the MCU.
Introduction Of Greek Gods In The MCU
Despite the inclusion of every big superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there was a space left for Hercules in the Infinity Saga. The reason behind this could be the fact that Hercules belongs to a race of gods that has not been introduced yet in the universe. As far as now is concerned, the Asgardians are the only gods that exist in the Marvel Universe. However, some details about Thor: Love and Thunder revealed that the time is here that the MCU will allow one of them to enter the scene. A couple of months ago, Russell Crowe revealed that he is the one who’ll play Zeus in Thor 4.
Marvel could use this chance of setting up a new race of Greek Gods in Eternals, which is supposed to explore the history of the MCU. Both have a significant connection in the comic world and considering their similarities, they will be difficult to ignore when together in the same universe. With that said, Marvel’s upcoming Eternals will revamp the comic story and thus, will create an intriguing pathway for the Greek Gods in MCU’s Phase 4.
Sneak Peek Into Eternals’ Origin
As per Nate Moore, the producer of Eternals, the team members are not native to Earth. However, they actually belong to the planet of Olympia. There was a time when the Celestials dismantled the Eternals from Olympia to eliminate the Deviants, monsters who can travel the galaxies and thrives to kill the apex predators and steal their physical characteristics. It looks like Eternals were made to remain on Earth after they fought the Deviants in the past. Considering this fact, it looks like the Eternals might have remained in their spaceship, Domo.
Craig Price, the property master of Eternals echoed everything that the Eternals had on their ship. Most of the things were related to entertainment purposes and that is how it confirms that the Eternals have spent most of their time there itself. With that said, Eternals swapped their secret city from the comic world for the Domo as their place of residence. That is perhaps a big change from the comics, which showed the team residing in a huge and advanced city of their own. But MCU has made Olympia turn into a planet of its own.
Marvel’s Eternals is all set to hit the theaters on November 5, 2021.
