Even Tom Holland Couldn’t Help But Fall For George R.R. Martin’s Brilliant Story-telling and One Incident Proves That
The Dance of Dragons civil-war was rather intense. Based on George R.R. Martin’s scorching saga Fire & Blood, HBO’s House of the Dragon swooped in and took everyone by storm. With the first season ending its 10-episode run, even Hollywood A-listers are obsessed!
Produced by Martin, Vince Gerardis, Ryan Condal, and Miguel Sapochnik, the fantasy series (literally) roasted the competition. Even Spider-Man’s Tom Holland couldn’t stop raving about the Game of Thrones prequel. While the first season flew by faster than a dragon with a nosebleed, what’s next?
“Love the show, man!” Tom Holland fangirls over House of the Dragon
In a buzzing interview with ET, actor Fabien Frankel (who played Ser Criston Cole) spilt some hot tea. He revealed that Tom Holland was a huge fan of the House of the Dragon. Even friendly neighborhood Spider-Man couldn’t resist the Targaryen drama!
When the interviewer asked Frankel how it feels when people appreciate their work, he smiled and said, “Oh it’s amazing!” Speaking further, Frankel expressed how Tom Holland swang by (metaphorically, at least) when he was at the gym.
Fabien Frankel reveals to ET that Tom Holland was a huge #HouseoftheDragon fan:
“He came up to me, and I was at the gym, and he was like, ‘Love the show, man,’ and he fist-bumped me.”

Fist-bumping Frankel, Holland exclaimed, “Love the show man!” It’s cute to see Holland fangirl (or should we say fanboy) over Martin’s brilliant storytelling. And for all that’s worth, George R.R. Martin did a fantastic job.
Even fans on the internet reflected on how the HBO series has brightened all of their days. Some express that they miss Viserys and others talk about wanting to give him a big ol’ hug.

The fantasy-drama series ended with an epic cliffhanger on October 23, leaving Westeros in flames! But hold onto your dragons, as the makers have revealed the second season’s expected to air in 2024.
George R.R Martin reveals a steaming HOTD alternate beginning
In an exclusive interview with fellow writer David Durham at Penguin Random House in NYC, Martin revealed how he wanted an alternate beginning for HOTD. The Fire & Blood author said he’d suggested an entirely different point in his novel to start the story for the HBO series.
When asked about the most creatively-challenging choice they had to make, Martin said that the writers had several options for where to start with the House of Targaryen story.
One of the writers wanted to begin it later, with Aemma dying. Skip the Great Council, skip the tournament, a scream sounds out, Aemma is dead, that’s where you begin.
Narrating what he himself would have preferred, the American author said that he would’ve begun it 40 years ago—when both Aemon and Baelin were alive. He continued saying he’d want to see their friendship and rivalry.
Following a cliffhanger that left Westeros in ruins, HOTD has become incredibly popular among both celebrities and fans. Watch and stream both seasons of House of the Dragon on HBO!
