Exclusive Report: Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 Is Under Development?
Before Tom Holland’s version and even before Andrew Garfield’s version of Spider-Man, when there wasn’t any Marvel Cinematic Universe, in particular, it was Tobey Maguire who portrayed Sony’s Spider-Man. While the actor portrayed the titular character in all three films of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, there have been rumors about the making of part four as well.
Sony Is Thinking To Bring Maguire’s Web Slinger Back?
Back in time, when the Spider-Man trilogy received so much love from the audience worldwide, the makers thrived to get a release date of Spider-Man 4 somewhere in 2011. However, the shooting and making scrapped in 2010 and the rise of Garfield’s Spider-Man was recorded. But apparently, the work that has been done on Spider-Man 4 kept the fans curious about what could have been there. In fact, today, after a decade or so, the conversation hasn’t stopped. With that being said, from a very trusted source and a proven report, it has been found that Sony is currently brainstorming the idea of bringing Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man back in a new way.
As stated by the source, due to the huge success and craze that Spider-Man: No Way Home has brought, it could be the right time that Marvel and Sony should bring in Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 on-screen. Precisely, the idea is to depict the fourth story in form of an animated film. It’d be somewhat similar to that of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
Spider-Man 4 Is Under Development?
Rumors and reports are echoing loud that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 is under development. With that being said, it could be assumed that it is still under the initial states that make sense. After all, there is so much happening with Spider-Man in both Sony and Marvel-verse right now. However, there comes many questions in mind that could be only resolved after getting official confirmation from the makers’ end.
With that being said, if the makers are planning to bring in Spider-Man 4 anytime soon, it should pick up right from the point where Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 left off (Maguire’s Peter Parker asking Kirsten Dunst for a dance). Furthermore, it has been also recorded that it’d be Vulture who’s going to play the main villain in the film. But as far as the reason why Spider-Man 4 was dropped in 2010 is concerned –it was Sam Raimi who was not happy with its storyline.
SPOILER ALERT!!
Marvel’s latest release, Spider-Man: No Way Home revealed some bits and pieces about Maguire Spider-Man’s life after Raimi’s Spider-Man 3. While it echoed that he is still with Mary Jane, they didn’t mention whether they got married or not. When Maguire’s Spider-Man stepped into Holland’s universe, he was wearing the costume under his clothes, which tells much more about his journey so far in all these days. So, is Spider-Man 4 going to take place post No Way Home’s events, or will continue from where Spider-Man 3 walked off? Well, we all have to wait for the official announcement for that. But since Spider-Man 3 ended at a point where the couple was about to dance, the new Spider-Man film/series should continue portraying how the two are going to make their relationship work.
