Fan Favorite One Piece Character, Who Can Play a Major Role in Battle Against Blackbeard, is Still Alive

The world of One Piece is filled with characters that fans of the series just can’t get enough of. With way over 1000 characters in the series, Eiichiro Oda’s mastery of character writing and designs is certainly something that is beyond comprehension. And among those thousands of characters, there are some that fans will go on riots for.
One of those characters, in particular, is none other than the captain of SWORD himself, X Drake. And luckily for the fans, the most recent chapter of One Piece has shown great promise for the fan-favorite character.
One Piece Chapter 1117 shows great promise for the future of X Drake
The captain of SWORD has been well-accepted by fans of the series ever since his debut in episode 392 of One Piece. However, his popularity only skyrocketed when fans saw him infiltrate the Beast Pirates during the Wano Arc and take part in the raid of Onigashima. Unfortunately for Red Flag, fans would be left guessing about his state after receiving fatal injuries from Guernica.
While most fans believed that X Drake was dead after the events in Onigashima, chapter 1117 of One Piece revealed that X Drake was alive and recovering at the G-5 Marine Base. With Garp now gone, Red Flag will most likely play a crucial role in the days to come as the leader of SWORD.
X Drake and the Sword members will most likely take the fight to the Blackbeard pirates, given that they have captured Garp. Though it is still uncertain if Garp is still alive, the very possibility might form an alliance between the Strawhat Pirates and SWORD.
It is true that X Drake and the Sword Members haven’t still made a big impact on the trajectory of the show. However, Eiichiro Oda keeping X Drake alive could just mean that he has something up in store for the Members of SWORD and the captain himself.
Why there is a strong possibility for an alliance between the Straw Hat pirates and SWORD
X Drake’s past and character are certainly shrouded with mystery. However, given the fact that he was shown to have a moral compass throughout his appearances in the show would only suggest that he would take the decision to do the right thing when the time arises. Also, given that he takes Koby’s word for Luffy being a good pirate, only hints more about the alliance happening sooner or later.
Also not forgetting that X Drake has already allied himself with the Straw Hat Pirates during the Wano Arc while going up against the Beast Pirates. Now with their goals aligning with saving Garp from the Blackbeard Pirates, the chances of Luffy and X Drake fighting side by side are more likely to occur in future chapters of One Piece.
