James Gunn is a well-known filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer. He has been a significant figure in the film industry for over a decade and is widely recognized for his work in the superhero movie genre. While Gunn started with the Guardians of the Galaxy, he was fired from the MCU after his controversial posts on the #Metoo movement in the entertainment industry. DC saw this as a perfect opportunity to swoop him in for directing The Suicide Squad (2021).
