Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard’s recent tease about the upcoming season four of the show might freak the audiences out, as he calls it messed up. Stranger Things fans have been long stuck in a hiatus that has now stretched out for longer than expected by many fans, however, there might be some light at the end of the tunnel now. The production for season four had slowed down, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, and has wrapped up recently. Fortunately, Netflix has confirmed that the show will return next year, well over two years since its previous season.

Stranger Things has so far, provided fans with many teases, as to what to expect from the upcoming season, although they’ve left most viewers with questions than answers. Recently, at Netflix’s TUDUM event, a new trailer for Stranger Things was released, revealing a new location: The Creel House, which is the home for the Creel family in the 1950s and holds some malevolent secrets. However, the trailer did not explain enough as to what lies ahead in the next Stranger Things season.

Wolfhard, who plays Mike in the series, is yet to be spotted in any of the teasers. While visiting The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon recently, Wolfhard did give the new season an unnerving qualifier. “Yeah, the show’s gonna be really messed up,” he said while appearing on The Tonight Show. When Fallon tried to trick him to reveal something, say Hopper’s resurrection or Eleven, he maintained a straight face and revealed nothing.

Wolfhard’s declaration about the new Stranger Things season falls in line with some past comments by him and other cast members about the new episodes. Gaten Matarazzo termed it as the ‘scariest season till date’, and Wolfhard previously stated it as the darkest. While coming across these comments makes us wish that the new season premieres this month itself, fans will have to wait a bit longer. Netflix is yet to announce an official release date for Stranger Things, but fans may expect the show to return in the first half of 2022. Here’s the latest teaser:

With each season, Stranger Things has gone on to become bigger and bigger. This has been a concern for some fans, but it will still be interesting to see how the upcoming season takes things to a new level. The Creel House seems intriguing, and the large cast of newcomers will also bring some fresh stories to life. Amidst all this, it seems like Stranger Things will provide fans with thrills that fans are accustomed to.
