First Look At Ms. Marvel Revealed During Disney+ Day And WE LOVE IT!
Today’s Disney Plus event has given fans a wide variety of news and announcements regarding the upcoming films and series that will be premiering in the days to follow, making it a huge day for Marvel. Releasing a flurry of information for fans which also includes the huge news regarding Ms. Marvel, Disney certainly seems to be on a roll right now. Apart from the highly anticipated series’ 2022 release, the Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney Day special gave fans the first official look at the series too. In a nearly 15-minute video, fans got their first look at the much-anticipated show – which includes what exactly happened to Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, played by Imani Vellani, after which she gained her powers and her early attempts to embrace those as a superhero.
We have our first look at Ms. Marvel, which you can see below:
Ms. Marvel will be following the adventures of Kamala Khan, who is a Muslim teenager who idolizes Captain Marvel and all other Marvel heroes. She uses her newfound powers to fight crime in Jersey City. The Ms. Marvel series is being showrun by Four Weddings and a Funeral‘s Bisha K. Ali along with The Punisher director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, and The Magicians director Meera Menon also helming episodes of the series.
“The fact that the show is being made and they’re including this character in the MCU is [what’s important],” Vellani explained during a recent interview. “I don’t really have to go out of my way and talk about being a Muslim and being Pakistani – it all comes out in the show. People seeing a person like me involved in a project as big as this is, I think, inspiring enough.”
During a recent investor call, it was revealed that Ms. Marvel will make its debut during the fourth quarter of 2022, which means that it will premiere sometime next summer. We don’t have an exact release date by Marvel yet.
Here’s what Marvel Boss Kevin Feige Had To Say About Miss Marvel Earlier
“Sometimes it can go into a feature then back into a series,” said Feige. “We’ve announced that Ms. Marvel, after her debut on Disney+, will be going into the second Captain Marvel film, but sometimes, and yet to be announced, we are thinking of and planning second seasons for some of the upcoming series.”
