Gaspard Ulliel, who plays the role of Midnight Man in Disney+ and Marvel Studio’s upcoming Moon Knight series, has died after suffering a skiing injury. He was just 37.

As per France Bleu, Ulliel ended up colliding with yet another skier in La Rosière, Savoie on January 18. Ulliel was unconscious when the medics arrived at the scene and he was revealed to be suffering from serious head trauma. Transported by helicopter to the Grenoble University Hospital, Gaspard Ulliel was pronounced dead after surgery. The other skier did not require hospitalization.

It was reported in July 2021that Ulliel had joined the cast of Moon Knight as Anto Mogart/Midnight Man, who is an obscure villain from Marvel Comics created by Bill Sienkiewicz and Doug Moench. His IMDb listing shows the actor being credited in all six episodes of Season 1, which will debut on Disney+ March 30.

Gaspard Ulliel is best known for portraying Hannibal Lecter in 2007’s Hannibal Rising, which served as a prequel to Red DragonHannibal, and Silence of the Lambs.  The actor was also the lead in the 2010 Martin Scorsese-directed Bleu de Chanel men’s fragrance commercial.

Apart from Moon Knight, other forthcoming projects involving Gaspard Ulliel include More Than Ever, which is in post-production, and La Bête, which is still going on in the pre-production phase.
