George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney shared a good part of their lives in their Italian abode in Europe’s most breathtaking locale, Lake Como. In 2002, the actor purchased Villa Oleandra for nearly $14 million. Ever since his purchase, the picturesque location and his popularity status have made it a constant target for paparazzi and fans.

Eventually, Clooney contemplated selling the villa in 2010, when the attention from the public and paparazzi became unbearable. After almost two decades of being in Clooney’s possession, Closer Weekly revealed that the value of the lavish property is roughly around $107 million (100 million euros).

Even after his marriage to lawyer Amal Clooney in 2014, their wedding excitement grew the attraction to their mansion, and eventually, the actor bought the adjacent Villa Margherita to enjoy greater seclusion for himself and his wife.

The Batman actor also reportedly implemented security measures to manage the situation and, along with the government, issued a US$600 fine for trespassing on the property.  In 2015, shortly after their marriage, the rumor spread that the couple was planning to sell the villa to get rid of the extreme media frenzy.

The Clooney bought the medieval mansion from the Heinz family. Nothing less than a palace, the property entails 25 rooms, an expansive gallery where the actor stored his vintage motorcycle collection, and an elegantly welcoming garden. The three-story, exclusive property has a picturesque balcony, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a gym, and a theater. It also has secluded patios that are great for enjoying the sunset.

Clooney traditionally spent every summer at the villa with his family, even before he got married. The villa recalls the couple’s love story, where the Ocean’s actor met Mrs. Clooney when she visited his residence in 2013. The idyllic villa that became a paradise for the Clooney and their twin children, Alexander and Ella, was also a gathering spot for his celebrity pals.

Notables include former US President Barack Obama, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle, as well as actors like Matt Damon and Jennifer Aniston, who were frequently spotted in Clooney’s villa enjoying the tranquility of Villa Oleandra.
