HBO Releases “His Dark Materials” Series Trailer
HBO has released the trailer for the adaptation of His Dark Materials. This series has been in the pipeline for several years at this point. While there was a little teaser earlier but this is the first proper and good look at a lot of the important features of the franchise. You will be able to see daemons, panzerbjorns and more in the trailer. There’s also a whole lot of more-than-meets the eye for the people who like hunting for easter eggs. What Is “His Dark Materials” Based Off Of?
The series began its journey when BBC ordered a new TV adaptation of the book series which is written by Philip Pullman. The show’s name is kept the same as the title of the books. The series is set to air on BBC One in the United Kingdom while HBO has the distribution rights in the United States. His Dark Materials stars Dafne Keen as Lyra Belacqua, Ruth Wilson as Marisa Coulter, James McAvoy as Lord Asriel, Clarke Peters as Dr. Carne and Lin Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby.

HBO describes the show as:
“Adapting Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy of the same name, which is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction, the first season follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Her search for her kidnapped friends uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children, and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets Will, a determined and courageous boy. Together, they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, with the fate of both the living- and the dead- in their hands.”
While His Dark Materials currently doesn’t have a premiere date, but it is expected to premiere on HBO later this year.
